As we were attending a family celebration in Glasgow we booked this Hotel for a 2 night weekend break with dinner included on the first night and upgraded to a high floor room. We have stayed in the Hilton Grosvenor in the past which we have always enjoyed and thought we would "upgrade" to the 5 star graded Glasgow Hilton. What a disappointment!
The main lobby, atrium and bar area are lovely and very inviting and the staff were very pleasant and helpful and we felt sure we had made a good choice.
However the room was very average - bathroom had basic shower and no heated towel rail. There was no mirror available in the room where I could sit and do my hair and makeup. The only other mirror was on the wall in an alcove and was fixed so high on the wall you couldn't see in it when sitting down which meant I had to stand to get ready.
However worse was to come - we had booked for dinner and expected a restaurant befitting a hotel of that standard. We had been looking forward to enjoying our meal in relaxed and comfortable surroundings and were shocked at what we found. Instead of a comfortable a la carte restaurant we found ourselves in a buffet restaurant which I can only describe as equal to a motorway cafe.
The floors were wooden, the tables were wooden, the chairs were wooden with wooden backs and no padding , the walls were wooden and even the table mats were wooden! Everywhere was beige with no colour and no ambiance whatsoever - it really was just a run of the mill cafe with all the tables very close to each other. As it was a buffet of course there was perpetual motion with people getting up and down to the buffet. I couldn't wait to leave.
Whoever designed this and thought it was suitable as the main restaurant for the "flagship" Hilton in Glasgow is insulting not only the customer but the very helpful and pleasant staff and also the excellent chefs who work there! The cold buffet and sweets table was very nice but as is often the case with a buffet the "hot" food was not quite hot and dried out.
Breakfast was simply mayhem although we endured it as the breakfast selection was very nice but if you can do without the cooked breakfast a croissant and coffee in the bar area would be much more pleasant!
If you are looking for a break in a Glasgow Hotel and want comfort and relaxation do not come to this Hotel - plenty others to choose from!

I stayed here with a friend on a city break for 2 nights. The hotel is lovely and a 10 minute walk from Central station and the main shopping areas. We ate in the bar one evening. The food was excellent, though the drinks a bit pricey, as is usual in these hotels. We booked a room with 2 beds, which turned out to be single beds, but would have preferred 2 doubles. Our room was facing the motorway slip road and I initially worried about the noise, but couldn't hear a thing. The sightseeing bus stops around the corner, just a couple of minutes walk away, which was useful.

The wife and I had a 1 night stay at the hotel. We were there for an event being held in the hotel.
On arrival warm welcome at check in and very helpful at answering questions asked. The room was of a very good standard, plenty of space and a lovely comfortable bed. breakfast in the morning was superb, plenty to choose from . hotel in a great location just of the motorway and only a few minutes walk to central Glasgow . Have stayed here 3 or 4 times and every visit most enjoyable.

Very much enjoyed my stay at the Glasgow Hilton. Clean rooms, good staff and well stocked bar as well as the great central location.

Made full use of the gym and pool faccilaties which are great. However if your not looking for lesiure facilaties I would suggest you stay at the Glasgow Hilton Grovesnor in the West End which has a less formal feel about it and all the benefits of the west end.

Would recomend to anyone.

Stayed here for one night with my wife. The room was lovely and the breakfast ( extra ) was excellent although maybe a bit expensive. The pool/spa were excellent. Not too far out from the city centre , probably about a 5 minutes walk.
Will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Room 506. Corner room overlooking the Kingston Bridge. This room was much bigger and nicer than one I stayed in previously
