“I really like this hotel.”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

The rooms are well-maintained and spacious. Maybe not ultra-modern but more than acceptable. The staff are really friendly and always give service with a smile. The showers in the rooms are brilliant. Only bad point about this hotel is that it is a real pain to get to on foot from the city centre. It isn't far but you have to walk down through a pretty grotty concrete maze to get there. So, if you get a good rate, definitely give the Hilton a go.

Room Tip: As always - go for as high a level as possible.

Having stayed at this hotel at the beginning of the year which resulted in many complaints, the General Manager (Daniel Van Wyk) has managed to completely restore our faith in Hilton Glasgow.

Having convinced us to visit this property again, we were given a beautiful room, enjoyed delicious food and completely relaxed in the atmosphere of the hotel's bar & restaurant.

The staff went out of their way to make a special weekend truly enjoyable (as it was my partner's birthday) and the food was out of this world for which the Chef and his team should be credited.

A very big thank you to all the staff for the helpfulness and congratulations on turning the service and standards around since your appointment as General Manager this year.

We will definitely be back again as this hotel now truly deserves it's 5 star status.

Simply, thank you.

Room Tip: Executive floor is a must if you fancy treating yourself.

So much to say and so little time. Last year I booked a overnight stay for myself and better half in the beginning of November. I had a query with Hilton Glasgow about my reservation which was answered very promptly and efficiently. They have more than went the extra mile to ensure that we are going to have a superb stay.

It's also our 5 year anniversary, so a special occasion for us! Huge thanks to Aileen at Glasgow Hilton (you know who you are!). Weve stayed there previously and there are so many compliments to make, primarily:

-welcome when arriving - superb by concierge - met us at the lift we came up in from underground car park and reception staff welcomed us to the hotel.
-quick and easy check in
-room fabulous and very comfortable indeed - nice and clean
-my better half said the spa was out of this world and she was very impressed - spent about 2 hours there and came out feeling fantastic - huge compliments to the spa staff
-breakfast superb and discounted when staying in. Only £10 pp also - which for easily the best breakfast I have ever had is a bargain.
-Overall, a REAL committment to customer service - and you shouldn't miss an opportunity to stay here.

Only fault if I could find any??? (really pushing it here to find one?) -

-very expensive prices in the bar - I recall buying a vodka and lemonade and an apple juice at the bar and it was about 9 or 9 pounds. Bit pricey. On one hand it's a top hotel, but on the other hand, I suppose more guests would drink in the bar and plough there money in if prices were a little lower? - but STILL at the bar, can't do enough for you - customer service superb.

Really, that's it for us!!! lol.

Previously - superb stay and really enjoyed the hotel facilities.

November 2012 - Very much looking forward to our stay and again thanks to Aileen for her assistance.

I look forward to adding a review following our stay in Nov!

Scott and better half! :-)

Room Tip: Get a good deal online if you can and get the best room you can in the hotel - and enjoy!!!

just returned from an overnight stay, got a great deal in the flash sale.. Room was spacious and perfect for our needs, made full use of the lovely leisure centre, breakfast was lovely and plently of choice. We had one drink at the bar.. I had one cocktail which was expensive so i savoured the one i had which was delicious. We had a few hiccups along the way, i locked my car keys in the boot of the car, rescue were there trying for a few hours. kenneth the security quard eventually got into it .. well done him, then the next morning discovered i had left the lights on and ,my battery was flat. again a member of staff was more than helpful, pushing the car our and another guest gave up a jump start.. now need another night to recover.. the staff were very helpful

My Husband and I stayed here for two nights as we were going to a concert and having a city break. The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre, was very clean and the staff were friendly. As were were visiting friends in restaurants we didnt eat here, so cant comment on the food or dining facilities.
The Spa is worth a visit, as is the pool and facilities. The only critisism is that you had to pay for wi fi in the rooms although it was free in the reception areas, there was no guest directory in the rooms with prices for the mini bar, and robes would have been a perfect touch. Lastly on arrival we heard a member of staff swear at a man who stalled his car going in to the car park! Not a very nice welcome......

Dear mags1888,

Thank you for taking the time to review your two night stay at Hilton Glasgow.

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, in particular the Spa and Leisure facilities.

We are currently in the process of printing new hotel directories and have removed the old directories whilst this process takes place. I have since spoken to the reception team to ensure that this is communicated to our guests.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for your experience on arrival at the hotel. I have passed on your review to our Front o0f House Manager to investigate your feedback as this is totally unacceptable.

Thank you again for your feedback and we do hope to welcome you back in the near future.

Kind Regards,
Lisa

Just returned back from my 5th stay at the Hilton Glasgow.

As usual, all staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice surprise to see the reception, bar and restaurant area have all been updated along with the lifts.

My standard room was very comfortable and spacious kitted out with writing desk and sofa. It had all the things you would expect to see in a Hilton, including tea & coffee making facilities, bathrobe & slippers, choice of pillows etc. My room was right opposite the main roads but i heard nothing during the night. Very quiet.

Dining has changed slightly since my last visit, going from buffet style to menu choice. The menu choices were varied and tasty. I opted for the fillet steak (Highly recommended)

Breakfast (buffet style) was the usual high quality that you would expect from any Hilton. All food was to a very high standard.

Free BT Open zone wifi throughout for O2 customers.

There is a pool Jacuzzi and sauna which I have used before but not on this occasion.

Although the entrance road to the hotel is a little untidy, the hotel is in a very good location. About 20 minutes from the airport (between £21 - £23 taxi fare) and around 10 - 15 minutes walk from Glasgow Central Mainline Station.

Very close to the main shopping centre, again, around 10 - 15 minutes walk.

Would always be my first choice hotel in Glasgow.

Room Tip: Tip: if you plan to dine in the evening at the hotel, check first the 'room, breakfast & din...
