spent one night in a single room at the belhaven. 2 young men at check in both very friendly and helpful with directions etc. the room was a nice size for a single with en suite shower and toilet. bathroom very clean and linen etc very clean and fresh. carpets could do with a refresh though. friendly lady at breakfast who took order for full breakfast cooked to order. west end location, within walking distance of tube station and busy byres road pubs etc. £7 taxi ride from central station.

A well-sited hotel, convenient to the University of Glasgow and numerous coffee shops, bars, and restaurants on Byres Road. I stayed in a single room, which in my experience never gives you a wow factor. But it was good value.

I would describe the common rooms as characterful rather than chic, or even shabby chic. (I think the carpet needs replacing.) The breakfast was filling. Staff are friendly. So, overall, a good place to stay in this lovely part of Glasgow.

Would have been willing to pay double what I payed to stay in this hotel! Extremely clean, tastefully decorated rooms. One of the best hotels I've stayed in in a long time :)

The Belhaven is clean, comfortable and very good value, with friendly staff. Breakfast is cooked to order, not kept hot and curling at the edges on a buffet. Its situation just off the Great West Road is ideal for the bars and restaurants of the West End and for many of the University departments.

Excellent location. Room was huge and clean, bathroom whilst clean was in need of some cosmetic diy attention.
Free parking, although quite hard to get into the terrace and spaces were hard to find.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2011

The Belhaven hotel in Glasgow is a lovely, family run boutique hotel in the West End of Glasgow. The hotel is in a very old building that could well have been a family home a few decades ago. The rooms are small but kept well clean as is the bathroom. The bed was excellent and I slept like a log. The hotel is small - perhaps 10 rooms? and each guest is pampered. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of juices, eggs, ham or bacon, toast, cereals, milk, coffee, tea etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The Belhaven is located about ten minutes from the tube into central Glasgow and a bus is about a three minute walk but you can walk into central Glasgow in 20-25 minutes and there's much to see along the way. A lovely, friendly hotel and a lovely city, Glasgow.

Room Tip: My room was on the lower level but it was excellent. I suspect rooms on the upper floors are larger...

Stayed here as it was handy for a wedding. They were kind enough to let us in early so that we could get changed. Room was enormous and clean. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, despite the short wait for a free table.
