“Night heart of Glasgow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

The merchant city is the new heart of nighlife in glasgow. many good pubs, clus and places to eat. If you have a chance to wander during the day there is enough history to keep you occupied.

“The past is everywhere!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

You should go to the tourist info centre and get a Merchant City Walking tour leaflet. That way you don't miss out on anything! See the Tolbooth where criminals had their ears pinned to the door! Visit the Tron Theatre which is several hundred years old. Browse the many fine private art galleries, eat in cafe Gandolfi(a former cheese importers offices but no strange odours left!) where the furniture is fantastic, as is the food, have a tattoo, get good Glasgow chips from a local cafe, visit Panopticon Theatre, where stars such as Stanley Laurel trod the boards. Look up at the buildings with their decorative stonework, have a glass of wine in a comfortable bar.....wonderful!

we went for a meal and drinks. there were a few of us all different ages but this area has so many good pubs and restaurants that you would be hard pushed not to find something you liked.the old fruit market especially has a great atmosphere and well worth going to.

Great atmosphere to shop and dine. Check out the Bose store for the best in Audio. Visit the square to keep dry if its raining.
