I really enjoyed my visit to the gallery. I would recommend a visit to the Linda Macartney retrospective which was very good. Also, the Dali picture of Christ is very inspiring.

They have an eclectic collection of Scottish paintings and French Impressionists. And the chance to see Dali’s St. John of the Cross was brilliant.

Great place to spend an afternoon! There is something for everyone and it caters for all age groups, sometimes they don’t even notice its educational and the best bit is it’s free.

We booked this weeks ago and were looking forward to it - and it did not disappoint. The photos were amazing and truly captured Linda’s style, talent and life story! We were humbled that the family shared this with us!
The Art gallery staff were friendly and helpful. The whole experience was great - it’s brilliant that Glasgow Council continue to have free entry to this museum- although the McCartney exhibition was a £7 entry! But well worth it. We picked up some lovely black & white prints which we look forward to having framed! It was a great day out!

1. Location: we took a cab from central Glasgow for £8. We walked back (4 km)
2. Setting: nice riverine city park with some walking paths
3. Building: 1901 Beaux Arts brick. Excellent condition and architectural details
4. Exhibits: more than we could see in a day. Natural history, early people’s, Scottish history, Glasgow history, Egyptian Gallery, Charles Ronnie Mackintosh, painters and temporary visits
5. Price: free. 5£ donation suggested
6. Small cafe in foyer. Large cafe and shop downstairs
7. Bonus: organ recital when we came.
