I've been visiting this institution since I was a child. I love the old lady, elegant, interesting and full of fantastic exhibits and displays. The gallery is almost as wonderful (though not as big) as the national portrait gallery and the museum downstairs has so much to see and do.

Our most recent visit took in e pharaoh exhibition. There was an additional charge for this (entry to kelvin grove is free) but it was well worth the money.
There are lots of different things to see and plenty to keep children - and adults - amused. My favourites athe the ancient history, and glasgow arts and crafts exhibits which includes some Charles Rennie MacIntosh pieces.
There is a very good on site restaurant and if you fancy a change Mother Indias Cafe is just across the road

Get on the web and check out when the next organ recital is and go a long and lose yourself for half an hour. Then meander round the place and have a coffee or something to eat in the cafe. There's usually free kids activities on the go and the layout is great - it's a real exploration.

If you are ever in Glasgow, even for a short time, you must check this museum out. There is no charge to get in and some of the exhibits are astonishing. The art, of many different types, is worth the visit. I particularly liked the Van Gogh.

Great way to spend a couple of hours.
I liked the convenient car parking, at a sensible price, adjacent to the rear entrance of the art gallery.
The quality of the food, the service and atmosphere in the Cafe were of a good standard.
There is plenty to see and something for all ages.
On a negative note I would say there does not seem to be any real order for exhibits and some of the show cases were unlit during our visit.
All in all a worthwhile experience, will be back at some point.
