As a new visitor to Glasgow would like to have seen more information on the history of Glasgow itself rather than the more general displays. Art exhibitions good though. Service in Museum Cafe good as well. Building was amazing, probably the most outstanding feature of the Museum.

It was cold and rainy one day when we were in Glasgow and we decided to see the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum to get out of the rain and warm up a bit.

All museums in Glasgow are free - and this museum was a nice mixture of museum displays and artwork. Their most famous painting in the museum is by Salvador Dali and titled Crucifixion. It was painted in 1954 and bought by the museum the next year.

The museum also has a large animal display, displays on the Art Nouveau movement and Charles Rennie Mackintosh's contribution to it and displays specific to Scotland and Glasgow.

Overall, interesting and worth the visit.

You get lost in the Dahli Painting, the layout is excellent and visitor friendly, oh and there's a SPITFIRE hanging from the ceiling...what's not to like?!??!
...And Brewdog's over the road if you get a bit thirsty!

Definitely worth a visit. Beautiful building in a nice part of town with great exhibits. Very varied collections. It's easy to spend a good few hours just milling around.

We visited this museum with a 2+ year old & he enjoyed himself tremendously. Very informative and interestingly displayed. Would definitely bring more people to this place.
