Worth a visit if you are near Bellahouston park ,but very small so unless you are a real Mackintosh buff you will be around it very quickly!

“An amazing house”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

The outside of the house is interesting, but there is a definite wow factor when you walk inside. Give yourself around an hour to get the most from the visit. If you go at the weekend check that there isn't a wedding booked for the afternoon. The audio guide included in the entrance fee is very useful. and the highlight is the music room. The cafe is very good as well. Such a pity that the house wasn't built in Mackintosh's lifetime!

“Weird repro mix!”
Reviewed November 15, 2013 via mobile

The building was put up relatively recently based partly on limited plans from CRM, partly on copies or adaptations of other things he had done. The layout is fascinating and the audio guide they give you is interesting but is feels a little too modern, without the patina of age which might have given it depth. A lot is reinterpreted and the explanations grated a bit. On the upside is a marvellous cafe and restaurant. It was also quiet, warm and welcoming so I was glad we went!

“Marvellous Mackintosh”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

A lovely example of Mackintosh architecture in a parkland setting. The white music room is just stunning. The cafe does excellent food and service - mainly only during the day, and you should book for lunch.
