Wonderful tour of the school, which is still being used. Usually tour is led by a student that has been studying there for awhile, so it is very interesting. Beautiful old school, and you definitely see MacIntosh's architecture up close. Don't miss the library.

Very interesting school. The tour is given by a forth year student with a very good knowledge of the history

Our host Laura toured us through the century old design school and we were not disappointed. Combining history, architecture and art we were taken through the full range of its charms and got a sense of why an institution like this is started and has been so well nurtured these many years. I especially enjoyed the finials and design details.

We arrived at the Glasgow School of Art building in Dalhousie Street shortly after 5pm. Seeing the building open we wandered into the shop to see if we were able to look around. A very helpful young man said the last tour had just left (10 mins previously) but he made a phone call to see if we could still join it. A young lady came down and escorted us to the group which was being led by Colette. This historic Mackintosh building is magnificent, with many steep stairs and beautiful architecture. Our guide, Colette, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The library was my favourite room even though the windows are covered at the moment due to renovations. The final room, which is downstairs contains some really interesting items of Mackintosh's furniture. And to think that this wonderful building is still being used as an Art School. How can anyone studying there not be motivated by their surroundings.

Certainly a must see for anyone interested in architecture and senior entrance was only £8.

Had the pleasure of taking part in a walking tour with Rosie and Fran. It was a great way to see most of central Glasgow and both guides were extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. I can't recommend the tour more highly for anyone interested in the history or architecture of Glasgow!
