“An interesting tour”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

I spent an afternoon being shown round the public (and a few less public) areas of the Macintosh Building by Jo, an ex student of the building. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic for the building it's creator and the art held within.

A few steps to climb, as warned on the website, when you book, but also a fair hill to climb to get in - well worth the effort, though. The building is well worth a visit even if you don't have time to take the full one hour tour.

“Loved this tour”

The Glasgow School of Art is a must see. Calum our guide really knew his stuff. The college gives you a great insight into the genius of Rennie McIntosh. You also hear how others helped create the Rennie McIntosh style. The importance of Glasgow designers both industrial and artistic really comes through.

It's only a few minutes walk from Sauchiehall Street.

“Interesting insight into stunning building”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

On the whole this was an hour long insight into one of Mackintosh's builidngs and was enjoyable and informative, probably more suited to those with an interest in architecture and Glasgow history.

Our guide, Callum was enthusiatic and knowledgeable and kept the audience engaged. The tour takes in specialist areas of the School of Art, including the boardroom and library which was stunning.

A pleasant hour was spent hiding from the showers, slightly expensive ticket price and £8.75 for an adult!! Wouldn't suggest for children as aimed at adults given the content.

Take the Mackintosh tour - well worth seeing the building and hearing the history of this designer. Excellent guides (mostly ex students of the School)
