There really is nothing to dislike except perhaps it may not be very disabled friendly. The volumes in the speaces speak for themselves. Just being there is a spiritual experience.

“Had to go on a first visit to Glasgow.....”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

.......as his work is so famous around the city, but I wasn't that impressed.

Where was the coloured glass, and fussy prints (as seen in the books in the gift shop). All I got from it was that he took his style from the Arts and Craft movement, as told by the guide, and moved towards art deco, This was evident in each room.
I think this house must just showt a snapshot of a time he lived there, and therefore did not reflect all the work he did in his life.

“Well reconstructed within the University”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

Close to Kelvingrove atop the hill, the Mackintosh House gives visitors the opportunity to see the development of his and his contemporaries styles. Free tours are every half hour, but we did find that the knowledge of the guides can vary.

“Absolutely Fantastic!”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

Very big Charles Rennie Mackintosh fan, but hadn't quite got around to visiting the Mackintosh House yet. Wish I had done it sooner! Some absolutely beautiful pieces to see in the house, and gives a real insight into the mind of this wonderful architect. The house is in a beautiful condition, and the pieces of furniture are very well looked after. I cannot believe this tour is for free, and is absolutely excellent. Our tour guide was lovely, and very knowledgable. They give you plenty of time to ask questions, and have a great understanding of the work of Mackintosh. A stunning place to visit, and highly recommended. Would love to go back.

Another free visit in Glasgow. Beautiful replica of Mackintosh's house. Opposite the University, surrounded by boutiques and restaurants about 5 min walk.
