“Flawless!”
Reviewed September 1, 2008

My stay at this hotel was flawless from start to finish. I'd happily stay here again next time I'm in Glasgow. My room was spacious and well-appointed, and the bathroom was huge and recently renovated. The bed was super comfy, and the giant windows were nice considering the weather in Scotland is usually overcast. I loved the stained glass windows in the hotel's hallways, and the dark, cozy feel of the bar/bistro. The staff were attentive but not fussy, and the hotel's location in the West End is a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Overall it's a magnificent property - highly recommended!

This hotel is top notch and good value for money. It's stylish and spotless and in a good location. All of the frontline staff are really genuine, helpful and friendly (and we saw this put to the test by a pushy American). Special nods to doorman Robert and the young lad with the red hair.

Treated my wife for her birthday. We had long admired the outside and wanted to see the inside. We were not disappointed. Really really nice. everything was spot on and you felt special from Day 1. surroundings are just very stylish and calming. Bedroom was sumptious and the bathromm luxurious. Most importantly the staff were all very pleasant and helpfull. It was so nice we stayed an extra night.
We ate in the hotel Bistro/ Resteraunt and this is where our disappointment came in. kate has an allergy to garlic and raw onion. Even a small amount can cause severe pain so we were particularly careful in telling everyone that mattered. True to form we got the appropriate assurances and we settled down to what promised to be something special. Guess what. Kate got raw onion in the starter and was offered a Bernaise Sauce containing garlic in the main course.. We got it sorted but it fairly rocked our confidence in the rest of the meal which we ate on edge. I've got to say though that the meal was excellent- really delicious- if only we could have enjoyed it to its full. Lots of genuine apologies and a promise that the general manager would be in touch- -but he didn't. Would we stay again? Thinking about it.

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past. Sadly it seems to have lost its shine. The service is impeccable without exception. The rooms however are a little lack lustre. Wallpaper peeling from the walls, skirting boards chipped and the floor uneven. Late at night the bar staff were diposing of glass bottles causing noise like the garbage guys had arrived early. Neighbours above could be heard showering and moving around. A nice hotel but really not worth the money.

My boyfriend and I booked a 2 night stay over Easter in one of the ground floor rooms facing to the front of the hotel.

From the 'wee dram' we were given on our arrival to the end of our stay the staff were so attentive, even to the point of carrying out our broken suitcase on our departure to the car, thanks to all my 'holiday shopping!'

The bedroom simply took our breath away. The monsoon shower room downstairs was totally luxourious and the attention to detail was perfect. Nice touches such as the golf machine, warm home made cookies every evening, and candles made it very memorable. My boyfriend will especially remember the fact that a certain ' Minogue' had also stayed in the very same room !

We took a drive out to Loch Lomond and popped in to a very well known 5 Star hotel on the loch and although it was in fantastic surroundings, we felt we had been spoilt at Devonshire Gardens and

After a heavy night in the West End a full Scottish breakfast was just the ticket before a long drive back home. We have just got engaged and are seriously considering this as a venue.

Stayed for one night July 2008. From the moment you arrive the service is first class. We were met at the front door by the concierge who took our cases and invited us into the lounge while our reservation paperwork was being processed. It was my wifes 40th birthday and on returning the concierge wished her happy returns which was a nice touch. Rooms were of good size and nicely furnished. We had dinner in the bistro which was one of the best meals we have had. The staff were very knowlegable about the menu and were only too keen to make sure we had a good time. After dinner we had a few drinks in the lounge bar which was very nice. Summing up we will return to this hotel.

We stayed one night in June. Very attentive service from the time we got out of the car until we left the next day. A dram of whisky at check in was a great touch. Loved the wine-themed rooms. Our room was on the smaller side, but had wonderfully luxurious bedding, and an amazing bathroom. We enjoyed the Cigar gazebo that was set up outside for smoking guests. This is a beautiful hotel and one I would definitely recommend.
