Well One Devonshire is just beautiful. My husband and I stayed for one night as a birthday treat. You are greeted with an offer of a dram as the porter tells you the history of the building. Our room/suite was very tastefully decorated and luxurious, just as you would expect from HDV. We stayed for one night and tried their 'taster' menu. 7 courses. A real culinary delight with very welcoming and knowledgeable staff explaining the course in front of you. The food was exceptional. It was so nice to enjoy a meal over 3 hours. Despite other high end restaurants we have been to the atmosphere was very informal and unpretentious. A real treat all in.

Room Tip: As this is a listed buidling there is no aircon in the rooms so ask for a room at the front if you c...

We were upgraded to a really superb room. The decoration was extremely refined, the room and bathroom very spacious.Really perfect taste and attention to the customer.David, the porter in a kilt, will gracefully help with your luggage,do not worry about stairs.
The restaurant is not quite up to the excellence of the hotel, but food was really very good. The whole staff do their utmost for your comfort.
congratulations to everyone!

Glasgow is a vibrant city and to enjoy it to the full you need to find a hotel that has style and a sense of peace away from that energy. In One Devonshire Gardens you get just that. It is made up of a terrace of four magnificent town houses on the edge of the fashionable West End so a stroll down the street takes you to Glasgow café life. Excellent check in with help to carry the luggage both up the steep steps and to our room. Despite the hotel being on a main thoroughfare the room was remarkably quiet and furnished with the usual generous toiletries that come with the Hotel du Vin chain. The bar menu at lunch could have been more creative and the tables cleared and service sharper but the good nights sleep, superb breakfast with local produce (see the ducks eggs and haggis!) and of course the HdV cigar shack makes this the hotel of choice in Glasgow.

Room Tip: The rooms are all stylish but very different so you could ask to see a couple on arrival if they are...

We had a great night at the hotel: it started with superb friendly service at check-in and it got better when saw how nice the room (Veuve Cliquot) was. Our room was up two staircases and the advice is to ask for a lower ground floor room if stairs are an issue, however the room was great: spacious, with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom, and free wifi in the room. A little warm as there is no air conditioning however how often will it be too hot in Glasgow? Price really low for the quality of our stay. I would come back here any time.

We are regular visitors to the HDV/Malmaison group and frequently eat at this hotel. Checking is was great and we were taken to our room by a very friendly and helpful gentleman. Unfortunately our room although well appointed was excessively warm, in fact it was verging on unbearable.
After calling reception a fan was dispatched however this did not help. An example of how warm it was is the fresh milk provided in the mini bar turned to yoghurt!
Dinner was good as always though recently we have noticed a tendency to abandon guests once the main course has been delivered.
Upon retiring to bed the room was so hot that we considered checking out but we did stay though had a very restless night.
The next day when I aired my unhappiness I was disappointed to be fobbed off with the "historic building" excuse. I suggested that they may want to invest in portable equipment which some other hotels in the chain have.
Another member of staff somewhat flippantly said "come back when it's cooler", which was not helpful.
I was advised that this is a regular complaint during summer months so why is nothing being done?
Sadly upon leaving another staff member said that they do have cooler rooms available which raises the question why did no one offer to move us initially?
I am still a HDV fan however this has definitely taken the edge off for me.

While the reception and porter staff are excellent, the wait staff lower the overall quality of service, particularly the breakfast staff on the morning we were there.
However the location of the hotel is ideal, and the accommodation was excellent. The menu selection and quality of the food was not up to standard for a quality hotel.

Well, when I was looking at opening a restaurant with rooms, some years ago, I benchmarked One devonshire gardens and we modelled our approach around what they were doing then. many years later, I booked a night and a dinner as a surprise, having promised my 2nd wife that i would take her there some years ago! Well, we were not disappointed. We booked a double room - fantastic ! Queen bed and the room was large with a smaller lounge down a few stairs and the bathroom huge. Clean beyond belief and everything plus more that I had dreamt of those years ago. My wife was over-whelmed. The bed was extremely comfortable.
The reception staff when we arrived were wonderful. Friendly; smart; and very helpful.
We booked dinner at 7pm - menu with a nice choice; food amazingly rich and delicious. An atmosphere that was simply unique and with service that was kind and compassionate; with a chef behind the scenes who was clearly a wizard.

Breakfast the following morning - well we chose continental. Good choice and stuffed before we went out for the day.
Altogether, I can't say enough about how good the staff are; the decor; the overall service; the food; its just what you would imagine a 5 star hotel to be. The bill? Well, I actually signed the bill and paid without even checking the amount. We had enjoyed it that much. And I'm no way a rich man!

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the rear - to be honest a view was the last thing we were looking for - ju...
