“Wow!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2013

I was a guest for a reception here and I was given the Vettriano suite! Good friendly check in staff and another staff member gave me a guided tour of the suite. Amazing....lots of space and a bath in the room as well. Showers and toilet facilities downstairs within the suite and with double shower and sinks. This was bigger than some hotel rooms! TV etc very good, bed comfortable as was the settee and chairs. A nice touch was a putter and golf ball ..you could practice some real long puts as the room was huge.
Lots of Vettriano prints on the walls both in the room as well as downstairs and the only regret ..being on my own and only staying one night.

Dinner was really good and breakfast was tasty with lots of choice hot and cold. Waiting staff friendly and helpful as all other staff thoughout the hotel were. It is not the cheapest hotel around but definitely a memorable stay and I hope to return....I will return.

Room Tip: get there early and enjopy!

Its a while since we stayed here. I remembering having an enormous suite with about 3 bathrooms. It was right at the top of the hotel and was fantastic! If it ain't been for the fact tat we were going to see U2 in concert then we probably wouldn't have left the room. We had friends staying in the hotel so our room was perfect for entertaining! The service was great and so was te food. If we had to go back to Glasgow I would defiantly try this one again.

Stayed at this hotel for one night recently. Staff were very friendly, check in was fast. Our bags were also brought to our room. No lifts in the hotel so had to walk up stairs everytime. Room was great! Very spacious. We had a couch and armchairs also. The bathroom had a shower and bath which were both great. The bed was big and very comfortable. Location wasn't in the city but was a short journey. We did get mixed up a few times going into the hotel because of the 4 different doors but wasn't a problem. Overall ŵe enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed here last year and sadly were slightly underwhelmed by the experience. The room was nice enough; the marble bathroom a wee bit dated and the breakfast was bad enough for us to warrant sending it back. Wouldn't rush back but wouldn't go out of my way to tell people not to go either - it's just a good hotel, but not superb.

Stayed one night on a Winter Break package which made the stay relatively affordable - the welcome from the staff was very warm and basically you never got that feeling that some top hotels give out that somehow they wished you really weren't there - so full marks for that. The room was big and very nicely furnished, we ate in the hotel, meal was good (for me the dishes were a bit over elaborate - but that is a personal taste) - the rest of the public rooms were all good, though the layout is a bit higgely-piggely (as it is a conversion of a relatively old building) - in location you are 15 - 20 mins walk from Byers Road & Glasgow's trendy West End. To me I'm not sure about the 5* rating, somehow it all felt like a good 4* hotel, though nothing wrong in that - it just didn't seem to have that ultimate wow factor, so to me very good but not great.

This has got to be the most beautiful hotel to stay at and is well located in the West End of Glasgow close to all amenities. We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the suite we stayed in was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean with plenty of room for the four of us with a massive four poster and two pull down beds in the lounge (hidden in a bookcase), these were made up for us when needed. Good strong rainfall showers and a lovely deep bath with robes and slippers completed the comfort. Dinner was superb although the service was a bit slow but the venison melted like butter. We slept in the following morning but after a quick phone call breakfast was delivered to our room, piping hot and delicious. There was plentiful supply of coffee from the nespresso machine to help kick start the day. Its a lovely hotel to wander round, the architecture is beautiful and the stained glass windows in the staircase stunning. All in all highly recommended.

It was only a short stay (Unfortunately) for our nieces wedding. we were greeted by the concierge who took our bags and showed us to our room, givnig us a potted history of the hotel on the way. Unfortunately because of the layout of the hotel there is no lift. Our room was beutifully furnished with a Queen sized bed. En suit of course with a fantastic shower and deep bath. There were complementary tea and coffee (espresso) making facilities and a well stocked, though I feel rather expensive, mini-bar.
I cannot comment on dinner as we were attending a wedding. The only down side of our visit was breakfast. If you required cereal this was served in another room. The service was although helpful was rather slow for which the the waitress appologised. The berakfast, although of excelent quality was barely warm.
Our checkout was friendly but business like.
All in all ae enjoyable visit
