Wow! Stayed one Friday evening for a business reunion dinner in town. I live in Liverpool but work in Glasgow and share a flat round the corner in the West End and have put clients/visitors up at the hotel on recommendation but have never stayed myself. Clients have always raved about the hotel but I wasn't sure what to expect. My wife, a discerning traveller, was thrilled and is really keen to go back. The room was beautiful and extremely comfortable - lots of lovely stylish touches. The was service exceptional and the food delightful. Thanks to all the team - will definitely be staying again!

I think you will love some aspects of this hotel but you also might not like other aspects. The hotel is old-style decor and charm (for me the decor is a bit dark with heavy greens, browns and charcoals and dark wood) with very attentive services from staff (but can be a bit slow at times). It is certainly not your "average" hotel. It aims to be a cut above the competition and, for the most part, it succeeds.

There can be no complaints about the food, which is always delicious with a predominance of Scottish produce (just witness the range available at breakfast). One thing I found very impressive was the knowledge and expertise of a young lady in food service, who gave me a very impeccable review of the cheeses (styles, flavours, origins) served to me......it made them taste even better and will not be forgotten.

The rooms are not numbered but are each named after renowned wines and spirits. Each has its own particular style and lay-out but mostly in the same genre. The layout makes the finding of your room a little tricky in the first instance until you've figured it all out but on the one occasion I did find myself a little lost, a staff member was quickly on hand to lead me the way.

Overall - stylish and elegant but maybe not everybody's cup o'tea.

On arrival with a warm welcome from Garry at the door our stay was peaceful and the room was very nice. A great place to stay in a good location, the attention to detail was excellent and the staff very professional. Little more relaxed personality from the staff and it would have been perfect! Will likely be back

We have just returned from One Devonshire Gardens after using a voucher from 5pm.co.uk. This was excellent value for money. Our room was to the back of hotel and very quiet. On arrival we were given a demonstration of coffee maker,tv controls and shown mini bar which had free water and fresh milk for our coffees and teas. The bedroom was lovely .The bathroom had separate shower and wc cubicles. The roll top bath was deep and great for a much needed soak after a walk through west end of Glasgow and Botanic gardens. Every member of staff made us welcome and nothing was a problem. The staff are a real credit to the hotel. It is our silver wedding this week and the hotel du vin was a great start to our celebrations. We will be back.

Stayed for a friend's party. Decor is very classy but a little dark. Gorgeous period features from the original buildings (once occupied by William Burrell). All staff very friendly which makes Glasgow such a brilliant place to visit.

We were made very welcome at this beautiful victorian terrace. Had a great room. Staff was very helpfull. Highly recommended. I made an error while booking ie booked for September instead of August. However there was no problem and was not asked to pay extra. Loved West End of Glasgow, so alive. It was great walking from our hotel to all the in places in cobbled alleyways.
