Didn't stay here however attended for a large wedding. Tastefully & stylishly decorated, attentive staff & spacious surroundings. Good location however, be warned, drinks are very expensive & staff aren't so keen on returning your change which is rude. Overall had a fabulous time & would recommend.

This is an old school classy hotel. Our room was huge, bed exceptionally comfortable. Bathroom was of a very high standard and beautifully clean. Within walking distance of many good bars and restaurants, as well as The Merchant City and all shopping areas. We love Glasgow, and especially The Grand Central.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Moved room from street side to station side on first night because of horrendous road noise. Prom night function on second night resulted in feeling like bedroom was in the middle of an Ibiza club. Told by reception that music would stop at midnight. When it didn't I rang reception to complain & was told by same person that music would stop at 1am. He denied telling us midnight until my husband confronted him in person at which point he made more feeble excuses. Would give zero star eating if poss. Don't know how they have the cheek to charge money for this kind of horrendous ordeal. AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your comments.

As a busy city centre hotel we do sometimes deal with a degree of noise, and as you mentioned our team is more than happy to relocate a guest that is not satisfied with their room allocation. We will be sure to discuss your comments internally.

Stayed here as it was very convenient for station and also close to SECC Hydro. Rooms are good but have no air con. Bar is very expensive for what you get. Excellent location if travelling by train to Glasgow.

Room Tip: No air con

Connected to and located next to Glasgow Central Train Station, this hotel offers exceptional location to whatever you might need whenever you need it. The hotel is revitalizing and yes, based upon your personal preference this may not be your cup of tea! This is a 4 star European hotel-- this means that accommodations and food are better than most but are not equal to those desiring large rooms, jacuzzi tubs, his and her dressing areas and the latest in designer toiletries. What it does have is heart! A staff willing to please or help in any way possible, friendly and willing to help you figure out how the heck to properly wear a kilt in order to look like a proper highlander! We decided to stay at the hotel because of location, affordability, history and safety. Our son got married at 29 Royal Exchange last week-- we had much going on! My biggest concern was that the room was small but adequate. The bathroom was tiled, decent tub/shower combo but lacked his/her space so that couples can get ready without tripping over each other. If it is summer ask for a fan or you may feel you are wilting! If winter, they have space heaters! Room Service I would avoid. They don't have a true late night kitchen. Why should you when you have fish and chips, pubs, and other places catering to late night crowd? You can walk in safety to Queen's station too! Go to Loch Lomond and take advantage of the beautiful Scottish countryside! Take a trip to Edinburgh which is easy, inexpensive and oh so full of fun history for adults and children. Definitely go to the Queen's Hollyrood House Castle! The hop-on-hop-off tours are worth it! Then relax----- get a pint or some wine and head back to Glasgow.....to the Grand Central Hotel via train. Like to gamble a bit? Check out the Corinthean Casino. Fun! And I won 1080 lbs then safely walked back to our room and "made it rain" ---- we went and had some crazy fried crab fish and chips .........fries to celebrate! Now on to Paris to spend my Scottish bounty!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is NOT above an event or banquet room. If you want space-- afford a suite! If...

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Central Hotel as part of a deal .The hotel is being renovated which we hadn't been informed about prior to our stay. I really don't know how this hotel merits a 4*as the hotel is dark and dingy .The superior room was clean enough but as basic as u get with the carpet seeing better days.I tried to get cold water from the tap to take medication but even after running it for a while it was still running tepid so we had to go out and buy bottled water at midnight (there wasn't even a complimentary bottle in the room). The Champagne afternoon tea was just ok with the breakfast being slightly better .The staff are very pleasant and are a credit to the hotel. Would I recommend this hotel to my friends absolutely not .
