This attraction got 4 stars as a visitor attraction but i would say give it a miss. It consists of 3 rooms - and one of those is the reception/staff desk area. The 2 members of staff were lovely and very chatty and if fact one was from my area of the country. However, there is nothing really for children to see. The exhibits consist of police uniforms from different times/countries and information on boards of past cases. Not the easiest place to find, its on the first floor of a building with a sign on the window and a pavement board. We only found it because the Glasgow Sightseeing Bus stops right outside it.

Glasgow Police Museum - created by dedicated volunteers who have spent 24 years putting all this information together for our interest. The Education minister should visit and then make it compulsory for schools to do field trips for the children to this museum. It would help build good relationships between police and children in the early years. Gain respect and maybe reduce crime in future years.
This museum has something for every age to enjoy, therefore a super family day out.

We found this museum very informative - curator was chatty and knowledgable about the subject. It asks for a £1 per person donation but essentially it's free. Won't take you more than 40 mins to get round it as it's only small. Interestingly the museum claims that Glasgow had the first modern professional British police force, 50 yrs before the Met. There's also a collection of various police uniforms from around the world.

This is a small museum situated near george Green and Merchant City devoted to the development of Glasgow Police. They are proud to point out that their formation predates the Met.The problem is that most of the showcases arent very interesting. After all it is of little concern to be told about the careers of previous chiefs of police dating back to the 19th century. There should be a lot more about crime. There is one interesting set of photos supposedly taken by a photographer of a hostage taking by a criminal.they claim to be taken at the time of the event but they do look staged.Ok to visit if it is raining and you have nothing better to do.
