“Great tour, the real thing”
Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

This was a terrific tour. We've done a few of these over the years, and having a spare couple of hours when in Glasgow for a family do decided to do this one. By the standards of the Scottish whisky industry, this is a cottage distillery. But this means you get to see the actual stills, mash etc and look into them to see whisky in the various stages of production. You also get to go into the barrel warehouse and having a glimpse of the regulations and taxation rules they must comply with was fascinating. The guide was very knowledgable, the tour group small and the tasting at the end generous. There is a small shop and nopressureto but, but we did of course. There's no videos or cafe but free parking and it is easy to find just off the A82 before the Erskine Bridge. Well worth it

“Good for a short visit from Glasgow”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Being close to Glasgow, we pass by this distillery quite often and made a quite a few stops there. While the introductory video is quite good, the actual tour is just above average, even though the signs posted all over the place make up for it. Good thing photography is allowed (except the warehouse), and you can see how spirit looks and smells like after each distillation (for the courageous there is an option of tasting the new make spirit). You will also be shown to their warehouse where you can smell the angel's share. Afterwards it is time for their tasting, which includes one Auchentoshan and a sipping of their cream liqueur - a good gift for ladies. I do not have much beef with the distillery itself, but I find the service disappointing, since they do not seem to be very helpful with queries. Although good to visit, if I had a choice of visiting a distillery from Glasgow, Glengoyne wins hands down, despite its location. 7.8 / 10

“Scotch Distillery”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Tour was okay. A bit disappointed with basic knowledge of tour guide----she could not answer what "makes a scotch a single malt" . The actual tour into the workings of the distillery and the various steps was very good. The barrel storage area and explanation was the best part ---other than the actual tasting. Also, given a scotch based cream liquor to taste----very good.

“Great experience”
Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Warm Scottish welcome at the door into a beautiful display room. Quick video of history prior to tour was a great background before the tour. Stevie was a great guide on the tour and explained everything wonderfully. He kept us laughing and our attention strong. Beautiful tasting bar at the end of tour to finish with our tasting. Excellent scotch as well!!!
