Have enjoyed two lovely meals here recently. The menu is imaginative and the food is superbly presented and delicious. Great service, friendly staff and there is a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended

Called in without a booking at 9 pm, was welcomed in and had a great sea bass dinner, recommended a lovely fruity S African white which was perfect. Staff were excellent. Highly recommended.

Good selection of rum and beer but personally it thinks a little over price. Especially that you can't really enjoy the drink because the music is too loud.

The place looks like bar but feels like a club because of the loud music. It's ok for a quick drink but not a place to have a chat with your mates.

ate here last week with my partner and 4 of our friends. we were attracted to trying the ivy after noticing it on a recent trip to fanny trollopes and thought it looked good.
service was ok, but very over familiar. clientele seems to be very studenty, and the staff acted as if they were your long lost best friend.
menu was varied and inviting. we chose to order a mix of starters, each choosing one each and sharing, however the lamb kofta was off, as was another starter we'd ordered. we eventually chose and what we got (including ribs, aubergine and tomatoes, sardines) was ok, pretty non eventful. the tzatziki never arrived and we had to request this again, by the time it came, we'd finished eating, so it was a complete waste.
mains were very good, although, again, the lamb was off, which 3 of our party had chosen. a few opted for rump steaks, a few pork bellies and a goats cheese salad.
rump steak was very nice, came with hugely chunky fries and some tomato, as well as bone marrow. all very delicious, however we all agreed our steaks were over cooked. excellent reports came from the pork eaters though the goats cheese salad was bland and uninspired.
desserts were lovely, although we just got 2 between the 6 of us! very well sized though.
after dark, the music gets turned up mega loud and our conversation became very difficult, given we were round a smallish table. the local studenty types arrived and started shouting over us in a very fake pretentious glasgow uni accents (locals will know what i mean!!). next thing, just as our desserts arrived, the whole crowd of them (about 20) started dancing, jumping and whooping all around us. this wouldn't have bothered us, but there is a whole bar area which they could have used as a dance floor!
bill was very reasonable. around £60 a couple, including quite a few drinks, however a service charge of 10% was automatically added. we chose not to leave anything extra for our long lost best friend/waitress on account of this.
would maybe go back, but would be reluctant to go on a saturday night again due to the pretentious, fake accented dancers!!

do go, but dont say i didn't warn you!!
