Melt in your mouth steaks and fantastic cocktails to be had in this 1920's styled restaurant and excellent service to top it off!

If dining on the a la carte menu it can be expensive, but good deals to be had midweek on the 5pm.co.uk.

The sirloin steak we all had was delicious, and if you like cocktails the quality of theirs are second to none. I love the New York sour, which is a whisky sour cocktail with red wine float, or the mojitos are always a treat.

I must say this is a shining example of what a high quality steakhouse should be . The steak tartare was THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. SImply superb, amazing quality meat and seasoned and prepared perfectly. My wife and I had the chateaubriand and it was exquisite. Again perfectly cooked and I am a sucker for table side service, so having it carved for us at the table was a lovely touch. I also cant recommend the bone marrow "top" enough. I love roast bone marrow anyway but this was an elegant and vastly flavourful preparation. I also have to compliment the drinks service - when you order your Martini "super dry and super dirty" and that is Exactly what you get you know you are in good hands. All in all an amazing meal. Not a single fault at any point. Cant wait to go back.

Firstly this is was formerly a pub and not an old one at that so don't go looking for interesting architecture and an uber stylish interior. Its fine and functional, no better, no worse.

The food now - as you would expect it majors on meat and majors very well too. Veal T bone was excellent juicy, tender, tasty etc etc but at £28.95 on the plate it should be. Beef fillet at a pound less was really good too. But here's the problem, when you charge me that amount for the main I do not appreciate being charged for everything else on the plate - fries & salad ? The salad was completely acceptable but cost to the restaurant would have been less than 40p for ingredients so why do they rip you off by charging ten times as much ? Don't even think of hiding behind preparation, staff costs etc etc - that's where a lot of the money for the meat goes !

We asked for bread for the table and a medium sized loaf arrived - very nice too but way too large and way too expensive. One starter we shared,( £7.95) the " loaf, Beef Fillet, Veal T Bone, two fries, one salad, one small soft drink, one pint shandy £91 pounds !

The food was fine, (the meat very good ) The surroundings acceptable as were the staff ( how many " You guys" can you get into taking one order ? ) but overpriced by a good twenty percent.
