This was my first CitizenM visit and it was an excellent experience. The rumours were true that it was a different and unique hotel experience in the sense that the hotel uses technology to the full to create a.....I want to say.. 'futuristic' hotel experience...? Well it was definitely a unique hotel for me, the modern and technology driven ideas that I noticed and were impressed by were:
- the self service check in which literally took 2 mins to do and was very straightforward. There were also a few members of staff to check everyone was making sense of the self service check in which is much needed for things like this (the annoying self service machines at supermarkets springs to mind however the CitizenM was the opposite).
- the room key activated lift had us confused for a few seconds! However it is an excellent safety feature for the hotel
- the modern layout, furniture and bathroom area was very different and it still felt homely and comfortable. No old fashioned carpets, bed sheets or curtains here.
- obviously the mood and settings tablet was fun, it kept me occupied while my girlfriend took an age to get ready. Not only was the tablet amusing, it was helpful and meaningful too and is one of the main reasons why I would recommend and come back to the hotel.

The room was close to spotless, just a bit of dirt/dust on the shelve next to the bed but not worth moaning about. With regards to the room, check in, reception, and lounge area of the hotel everything was excellent and impressive. We did use the bar for a round of drinks (two vodka cokes) and thought that £11 pounds for the two drinks was a bit excessive, I'm not a cheap skate but I just had the same round which cost half the price at a cocktail bar down the road from the hotel, so we only had the one at the hotel bar. The bar was very nice though, as were the staff.

After a decent sleep the breakfast wasn't a let down. Everything you expect at a hotel breakfast but in CitizenM's stylish way. The tea/coffee order taken by the waitress is a lot better than a self service machine plus you actually get a proper coffee prepared in front of you and not from an instant coffee machine. The juice bottles were a nice touch as oppose again to a self service machine. The hot food was a bit of a let down, the quality was good but the food was cold and had been sat out a while I think. Despite this the breakfast was good, big selection and served by very friendly staff.

Overall, of course, I would come back to the CitezinM, it was worth the money. Free movies, clean and modern room (with the mood tablet!), friendly and helpful staff and a good all you can eat breakfast.

Just back from staying here with my wife. Lovely hotel with smiling friendly staff (something you don't see too often). It's a boutique hotel so I expected the room to be small but it's more than made up for by the large comfortable bed and fantastic shower. The lighting/blinds/TV controlled by a tablet was very cool and just added to the value. Definitely would stay again.

The accomodation was great value for money and we really enjoyed our stay. Room was slightly small but the bed was massive and the hi-tech aspects and mood lighting kept us entertained.
I would highly recommend this hotel for the accommodation and VFM alone but also need to point out that all the staff were excellent and delivered a brilliant service. The door staff not only gave a good name to the hotel but to Glasgow as well.
I would definetly stay here again and reccomend it to anyone.

My family stayed there for 2 nights, conveniently located and within 10 mins walk to the city centre. Breakfast is good, staff is helpful and facilities are modern.

However we found there are quite a lot of small short hair on the bed sheet and pillow case. Also some long hair on the duvet which is disgusting. We asked the housekeeping to change it the next day and it is much better.

An upmarket Ibis - just what the world was waiting for. Excellent for impersonal, cool and detached mooching that definitely fits with what you'd want from a hotel if you were only in town for a couple of nights. An A+ shower, a phenomenally comfortable bed and a sensory mood light experience that didn't feel like a gimick even after 72 hours.

That having been said, can citizenM please find a way to exclude light leaking in under the bedroom door. I want my nights black.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms quieter but views not so good. You can self-check in so pick a room yourself - I recommend 7th floor rooms facing Renfrew Street or room 737.
