“I loved citizenM and my other half wanted to move in!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2012

CitizenM gave a stay which really felt 4 star. The luxury you want was there with the huge comfy bed and huge fluffy towels and then in addition you get something a bit different. I felt a bit like I was in the world Star Trek predicted would be the future. The novelty of being able to control everything in the room with one remote really was quite fun, especially the coloured lights and the temperature control worked brilliantly.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my parents, they'd still be there now trying to turn the tv off and I guess some people may miss room service. However I loved the concept of a help yourself 24 hour canteen, something I'm far more comfortable with than having to negotiate tips.

CitizenM also doesn't look to rip you off at every turn the 'pay to view' films are free and phone calls are cheap and I beleive there's free WiFi.

I shall most definately stay again and I hope they branch out quickly as they'd be my number 1 choice anywhere.

Stayed in the city branch of this hotel in Amsterdam and very pleased to see that the concept travels well - but with welcome Glaswegian touches. The overall approach is fun, funky and functional. The foyer was lively and friendly in the evening. Good deals available. Further branches are planned, including in London.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are identical and no special views.

went here for 2 night back in Oct 2011, brilliant location and close to all the main things you would want to do in glasgow. Hotel is very modern and clean and the staff are very nice. Rooms are small but have a huge bed and a big shower. Not a lot of hanging space for clothes but if you were only going for a couples night it would be fine. Cant wait to go back to this hotel!

Stayed last night in this hotel and loved it. The check in was unusal in the sense I am used to a reception and instead was met by a computer terminal, however the "Ambassador" as they are called, was on hand immediatley and helped me check-in, which turned out to be a rather simple process. The room is small but functional - the bed is huge and extreemly comfy. The mood lights were a unique touch and really made the room. The rain shower was powerful and the tv channels with free movies was a treat rarely found in any hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon.

A really modern, funky hotel, geared around practicality with well thought through design and facilitites.
Food is self service 24 hours a day, as is checkin/out althgouh there are youngm perky staff on hand should you need help.
The rooms are "pods" containing the most enormous bed that spans the width of the room. There was a freestanding washbasin and a shower room with toilet (wasn't so keen on this as loo seat got wet !)
The piece de resistence though was the remote cotrol (and I'm no technogeek) It allows you to alter the "mood" of the room through sound, light (brightness and colour) and picture. There are loads of films, tv, music and games stored to watch (a bit like on a long haul flight)
All in all, a bit of a quirky expereince that fits a need -

So last night was my girlfriends and I's one year anniversary night out. I decided to take her to a hotel and to eat but due to the economy at the moment I had to do it without spending as much - this is where Citizen M came in fantastically. The room was only £58 which is cheaper then most places in the center of Glasgow and it offered some amazing things.

First off the design of the hotel is not like others , it is a much more modern take on things with there being modern art and edgy furniture which is fantastic for us since this is right up our ally. All the products and items such as the sandwiches have little personal touches such as "To strengthen the mind, fill the belly ( and read a few books ) " printed on the them. The rooms also incorporate the new Pronto technology from Phillips. This one remote can control the color of the lights , how dark they are , the tv , an alarm system , the cutrins and blinds and finally the temperature in the room. Its pretty hi-tech stuff but its just as simple as a normal TV remote to use! The rooms are slightly small but I believe it adds to the modern compact effect and especially when it did not bother us at all. The entire hotel is spotless I would say and offers amazing service.

The service from the Staff was simply amazing , the receptionist taught us how to use the self check in service and told us which floor our room was on. The hotel offers 24 hour food which includes sushi from the local YOsushi , imported Japanese beer and sake. If you want something more close to home then the BREW DOG Scottish beer is definitely the way to go.

The hotel was perfect for our interment session together and I am sure it would be good for solo or business stays but if you are looking for a family friendly hotel then I would recommend another because the maximum to a room is 2 and there is no kids entertainment was the hotel is more orienteering itself to couples and business.

Room Tip: We decided to choose a room with a city view but I do not think the view matters due to the blinds b...

I booked the room for myself and my husband, the room was great and the massive bed was even better. The remote control blinds and mood lighting went down well with my husband who loves his gadgets.

We had the hot breakfast which was buffet style great for soaking up the large measure of Gin and tonic from the bar the night before.
