“3-different customers different prices?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013 via mobile

I didn't want to go here but it was a family get together thing so I had to just go with it. Better food than last time I went. Didn't enjoy it last time so not been in like 2years. The food have definitely have an improvement.
Most of the food we had was good or really good. Except for one thing and we complained it just tasted disgusting, we just had to spit it back out cancelling the food and order something else, waitress was pissed off and took it away, was expecting a sorry or something.
Desserts was nice. Another waitress was nice when my cousin asked for some chocolate sauce even though it wasn't included in her vanilla ice cream, gave her a wee bowl of sauce so she can help herself. She was really nice, a lot better than miss grumpy from earlier on.

One thing we was really pissed off was. We bought our own wine and asked if its ok. Miss grumpy said it was £30 per bottle, (we bought two bottles with us). Last time we came we got charged £5 per bottle of wine we had. So we told her. And she said its going to be £30 per bottle if we want to open our own wine. Then we asked how come the prices are different every time we came. She then said, normally it's £30 for customers but if you know the boss it will be less, maybe £5, she can go speak to her boss. So she walked away to the kitchen and disappeared for a long time. Got fed up waiting for her to come out the kitchen. so we just ordered a wine from the wine list, speaking to someone else.

Overall food wise was good. Service was good apart from miss grumpy. Cork fee was just terrible. £30? Seriously. It's just china blue, not like a really high class restaurant. £30 is just unbelievable. Especially when she said for different customers its different price.

“Big table - lazy suzy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

Good service as our teapot was never left dry. The duck was amazing. Great place to go in a big group. Lots of dishes to choose from. The menu is in english & ? cantonese. Very reasonably priced. I would definitely go back to China Blue. It can be really busy so booking is probably needed at the weekend.

“Take a chance”

Looking for some place to eat friday last before attending a concert and we had not booked anywhere after being turned away from a few places we spotted this restaurant and gave it a try.Staff were very friendly and prompt and attentive in there service and appeared eager to please. The place was full of young chinese customers and we were the only non asians in the restaurant which we thougfh was a positive sign.Starters and main course were both very good and attractively served. We really enjoyed the experience here and would love to come back when we were not in a rush.

“good food good atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

Ate here on a busy Friday night. When we arrived the restaurant was full of young chinese customers enjoying the food, obviously a good sign and we weren't disappointed. Despite being busy the service was very good and the waitresses were friendly and efficient. We were seated and served drinks quickly and our order was taken once we were ready, which took us a while as we found it so difficult to choose! The food, when it came was delicious with reasonably sized portions. We felt for the standard of food, it was good value for money. At no point did we feel rushed as sometimes happens in busy places on a Friday night and the atmosphere was great. We will be back!!

“Must-try in Glasgow!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

Great service, excellent food! I particularly enjoyed the roast duck, which is tender and juicy. This is the place to go to for Chinese cuisine when in Glasgow. It seems they have a more comprehensive menu for Chinese, which includes specific meat and vegetable dishes not listed on the main English menu.
