It was my partners mothers birthday, so the three of us went for a Saturday night meal in The Shandon Belles. It was a great all round experience.

We were mainly taken care of by the manager Alan (sorry if i got the name wrong- working saturday 12/10 wearing suit!). From the moment we entered we were treated so well (he even remembered where we sat last time- around a year ago!). We all opted for three courses. The steak special, pork belly and chicken mains were all superb.

When Alan heard we had a birthday at our table, he brought out the desert with a nice candle and 'Happy Birthday' on the plate- a really nice touch.

The restaurant was full- and we still got superb personal service from beginning to end from the whole team. Thanks for making our birthday meal so memorable- we all really appreciated it.

Had dinner off the pre-theatre menu. Service was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate. The food was perfect. Couldn't criticise a thing. Brilliant night. Would definitely recommend going for a reasonably priced dinner.

Have had numerous excellent meals upstairs at Two Fats but this was the first in the downstairs bistro. With regards quality of food and service delivered, this was exactly the same standard that everyone has come to love and expect from the big brother restaurant. We had the pre-theatre menu which provided an excellent choice of dishes with each course perfectly cooked, presented and served. The restaurant is intimate with a lovely ambience coupled with attentive and professional staff. Also extremely reasonable house wine prices. In terms of value and in comparison to other pre-theatre meals available in the city, the Shandon Belles comes up tops.

Just back from a meal at two fat ladies at Shandon Belles. Had a voucher and had not used it. Got the train to Anderson then 1 minute walk. Walked in and had was immediately impressed. Food, service and value for money were all fantastic. We will be definately be back. For something a wee bit different. First class! You will not be disapointed.

For the set menu price this restaurant cannot be beaten and is much more accessible than sister restaurant upstairs. Good for a couple or family meal. The price really is outstanding for the service and atmosphere. As others have said a bit difficult to find so get a taxi armed with the exact address.
