We spent a Friday night in the Blytheswood Square and were very impressed by the standard and finish. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Places of this standard can often be quite pompous but the staff did a great job of making everyone feel at home. I used the spa and it was very relaxing with no children. The food is lovely and the breakfast was very nice with freshly cooked good quality food. Its a bit expensive but you forget that when everything is this good. Will we be back? Certainly.

This place is incredible from all perspectives. Unlike Marriott and other chains they have free wi-fi, free spa for guests (and it is a very large and great looking spa and super luxury all you can eat breakfast. Their food is great and the service is impeccable. Their bartender makes best martini I've ever tried. The rooms are super clean with all marble bathroom and bathtub. The sound system in the room is incredible as well. May it is because I liked the people there but I absolutely loved this place and will be staying there again.

This has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in:) My husband and i stayed on the square deal last friday. This included DBB, use of the thermal spa and a bottle of wine in our room. This was a late christmas present- a night away without our children.
Everything during our stay was amazing. The room was extremely quiet and relaxing though did not have much of a view( internal square) but for a rainy day in Glasgow this did not bother us. We first of all went to the salon bar for afternoon tea- gorgeous plate of little cakes and scone and earl grey tea:) Then it was the spa. Best spa ever! We didn't have any treatments but there were enough different rooms including pools to relax us for the evening. I especially liked the sauna room with the crystal.
Cocktails and dinner again were fantastic. Both the service and food were great and the restaurant was busy but not over crowded.
I have to say that the breakfast was the best! I giggled when i saw the bloody mary trolley and had to have one:) The choice was wide and both the buffet and the cooked breakfast was outstanding.
We loved this hotel and will be back.

Stayed here on many occasions with my partner and have always been made very welcome by the staff. The rooms are beautiful and on one occasion we were given a free upgrade to a suite. Will definitely return

With it’s 5 star hotel, 2011 CLASS Award of Best Bar Menu and being the previous home of renowned bar tender Mal Spence, the cocktail bar here has a lot to live up to. Situated in the grand splendor of the old Royal Scottish Automobile Club, the bar area of the Blythswood Square shares it’s space with the hotel restaurant, so the space is always busy. The upstairs Salon area, which was the previous cocktail lounge, appears now to be dedicated to quieter afternoon teas.

Huge period windows, large luxurious drapes, as well as interesting, tassled lampshades, with insides like a zoetrope, surround the sparkling bar area. High chairs are available at the bar, as well as booths along the windows for a quieter get together. Andy, the bar tender on duty today, talked me through their current smaller menu of 14 core cocktails. Mal Spence created Volume I, an immense book of 60 cocktails which contained history, ingredients as well as suggestions to expand your cocktail knowledge. Volume II is currently in development, hence the smaller menu. However, any cocktail can still be created for you.

After a chat discussing what my tastes were, (GIN!) Andy suggested a Chevalier Rose, £8.00. Containing Haymans Sloe Gin, Kirsch, Noilly Pratt Dry Vermouth and some of their home made Raspberry Syrup. WOW, a great alternative to the now ubiquitous Cosmopolitan. Its fruity, girly, and far to easy to drink. Would go down very well at a girls get together. Fearing that I would end up here all day, I moved onto the Aviation, £9.25. Containing Tanquery Gin, Maraschino, Creme de Violette and Lemon Juice. Completely different to the Chevalier Rose, this one sits at the opposite end of the taste scale, tart, sour but looking like it should be sickly sweet bubblegum tasting. It certainly woke up my taste buds. The tartness of the lemon juice hits your taste buds then the slow development of the parma violet tasting liqueur comes in. Bliss.

With the grand surroundings, knowledgeable and friendly staff, I’ll certainly be back.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Blytheswood taking advantage of their Sunday evening Dinner, Bed and Breakfast offer. We have stayed before and dined in the restaurant many times, and each time is better than the last. Spa is stunning. Food and service is truly exceptional - could not recommend it highly enough!
