This was our first time at Blythswood Square. It is not a five star hotel but it is very good, with a few small things letting it down.
First the good things - outstanding location, excellent spa, good dining room and keen, young staff.
Small details letting it down - wardrobe space too small for us to unpack after a two week trip. Probably too small for a weekend actually. Only one bar of soap, so you have to fetch it from the shower in order to wash your hands. Excellent rain forest shower, but no shower cap, so you have to wash your hair whether you want to or not, as my wife found. Terrible hair dryer, which did not help her morning routine. No bedside lamp, so impossible to read in bed. The room signposting is so bad that we never found our room at first attempt, which was amusing first time but very irritating by the third time.
All small details stopping it being a really good hotel.More
