“Decent”

Had the pre-theatre menu which was great value...Nice fish.
Overall the service was great.
Restaurant is very small but has a good atmosphere.
Loses a star for the disgusting gents loo which you also have to access via the kitchen-: found this extremely odd.

“Overpriced for what you get”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

Took my wife on Valentine's day for lunch and although the staff and the restaurant itself were nice, I felt let down by the quality of the food served compared to the price charged.

I had the mushroom tart and had to work away at the pastry which was disappointing from what I would have expected from Two Ladies and previous reviews. The main again was equally disappointing, potatoes and veg were fine and the leek dressing and bacon on the ling was nice, but the fish was poor quality in my opinion and not that big either.

The sticky toffee pudding, however, was very good indeed and filling too. Certainly cannot fault the staff, they were all sincere, nice people and all 3 served us, but my wife left of the same opinion after having sausage and mash and left some of the sausage, but polished every crumb of the sticky toffee pudding!

Well that was au unwelcome suprise and I agree with others it is a little over priced for the food it actually serves and perhaps over rated too?

“Good for a relaxing Sunday lunch”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

I went to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon with friends and had the three course lunch menu. The restaurant is quite small but the atmosphere is warm and cosy. The service is generally good, however, one of the waiter who was serving us doesn't have any smile on his face, and we had to get our stored coats ourselves when we leave!
The food is good but not amazing. I would recommend the soup for starter, fish for the mains (and wine with fish)! :)

“First class”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

A birthday treat for daughter-in-law was a return to Two Fat Ladies. The service was warm and welcoming (unlike another well known fish restaurant in Glasgow). The staters and mains for all of us were beautifully cooked and presented and the dessert sharing dish was a real treat

“We plan to return”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Mixed reviews on Tripadvisor meant my wife and I were unsure about eating here but we are so glad we did. On a dreich Tuesday evening we were welcomed into this cosy dining-room and waited on attentively by two friendly (but not fat) ladies. Atmosphere was upmarket but not stuffy, just the way we like it. Same goes for the food - perfectly cooked whole plaice, filleted before being served with lemon and caper butter, with vegetables al dente and a superb bottle of Picpoul de Pinet. Not cheap, but you'll pay more and get less. We plan to return.
