Owner description: Glasgow Tigers Speedway is Glasgow's only true motorsport venue. Glasgow Tigers compete in the Premier League of UK speedway and race every Saturday at 19:00 from March to October. There are also occasional midweek races. Speedway is a fast and exhilarating sport and involves motorbikes, with no brakes, whizzing around an oval circuit at speeds of up to 70 mph. Speedway is also a family sport where kids can get involved with the 'Growlers' Club' and get to meet Roary, our Tiger Mascot. Glasgow Tigers' facility is one of the best in UK speedway and has fantastic catering facilities, a bar and some great viewing areas. The stadium is also fully wheelchair accessible.

If you have never been to a speedway meeting, then you should really give this a try. TV coverage, although very good, can never quite capture the thrill of being up close and personal.
Although Ashfield is an old fashioned stadium, it offers unrivaled viewing of this wonderful motorcycle sport. You can sit in the stand or position yourself right by the starting gate. Stand on the back straight, at the entrance to the first bend or the exit to the fourth bend. There are so many viewing positions that you are truly spoiled for choice and because you can stand so close to the action (if you choose), you get a real feeling for the speeds that these guys get up to and the extraordinary skill and bravery which is on show.
Once inside the stadium, you are able to move around freely and there is no extra charge if you wish to sit in the stand. There is fast food available and a nice new bar block which was put in pace at the start of 2013. Bar prices are very reasonable and you can take your drink outside in plastic glasses if you wish. The toilet facilities within the new bar are excellent.
Don't be fooled into thinking that speedway is just for bikers. It is absolutely not. There is a huge mix of folk attend. Old, young, friends and families. And you won't find a more welcoming and friendly bunch anywhere.
I've been to the track on several occasions this season and can recommend the experience.

Have been going for a few years now but once you've caught the Speedway bug you will find it hard to stop going. Great family day out.

Glasgow has been known for a long time as a footballing city, but over 60 years ago, Glasgow Tigers came into being and are still racing in Glasgow at Ashfield Stadium. Most weeks the action is between two clubs, Glasgow and a visiting team. Each team has 7 riders, 2 from each team ride against each other in each of the 15 heats. The acceleration on the bikes is faster than that of a formula one car. You get very close to the action being only a few feet away from the track when the riders are going round. Average meeting time is about 2 hours, so much better value than any football match. Lots of action, excitement and thrills fill every Sunday afternoon. If you haven't been along, why not? get your backside trackside. Facilities are all being modernised at the present and the new promotion have done an excellent job in what they describe as a work in progress. Cold food, hot food, souveniers, friendly crowd, riders are always willing to stop and talk to fans, sign autographs and pose for photos. Can't remember the last time police were needed at a speedway meeting. Great family entertainment. See you there soon.

Speedway racing is a fantastic sport for all the family. 15 races a meeting on bikes with no brakes at speeds of up 70mph. Car parking is available adjacent to the track for a small fee. The track at Glasgow is probably one of the most competitive racing strips in the Premier League.

If you like televised Speedway you will love live Premier League action.
