I am a reasonably frequent visitor to the restaurant bar + grill. It is conveniently situated right in the centre of town, in the princes square. On this occasion, I dined in the evening but I most often visit during the day for the lunch menu (2 courses for an excellent £25.)
As always, every aspect of my visit was impeccable. The food utterly delicious and the service faultless. I like to dine in the main restaurant by the big glass windows where the ambience is delightful.
My partner and I shared the mezze plate to start; falafel, hummus, feta parcels, baba ganoush, fried pumpkin... and the BEST olives I have ever eaten. My partner then had a fillet steak which he exclaimed was the finest he had eaten in Glasgow, even the best he had had in the restaurant (he always has a steak.) Being a vegetarian, I stuck to the butternut squash and parmesan tart which was cooked prefectly with a huge range of delightful flavours.
We shared the pudding plate for dessert, a mini selection of beautiful deserts... HOME MADE ice cream, creme brulee, brownies and... I can't even remember the rest! However, I do remember it being presented beautifuly. I ultimately had one too many of their MAJESTIC mai tais.
The staff are extremely knowledgable and efficent. Finally, waiting staff who take their job seriously. My partner and I are sick of sullen faced bored looking bar/waiting staff who look like they are eager for you to eat and drink up as quickly as possible so they can get home!
In essence an excellent restaurant in a great location. Would recommend for lunch or dinner. Booking on a Saturday seems to be advisable.
