Description: Harry Ramsden's serve the same great quality fish and chips today that they have been since 1928. The brand was established 80 years ago, when Harry Ramsden opened his first takeaway store in a hut in Guiseley. His top-quality fish and chips brought people from near and far and it wasn't long before Harry's became the most famous fish and chip shop brand in the world. The fish is freshly prepared in Harry's kitchens daily and has that distinctive flavour revered the world over. The menu includes the world-famous battered fish with its closely guarded secret recipe, as well as an extensive choice of mouth-watering options and a fantastic children's menu, to satisfy all the family. There are 13 Harry's restaurants across the United Kingdom, from seaside locations such as Blackpool and Bournemouth to high street restaurants in Cardiff and Southampton city centres, so you're never far from a Harry's.

Went to this restaurant on the 30th of July and again on the 4th August the staff were fantastic to my family and could not do enough to help our little one. The food was also great on both occasions.

Visited Harry Ramsdens and got a good enough meal, but the environment is shabby and in need or complete clean and redecoration. Service very slow and erratic despite the restaurant having only a few customers.

It had been a few years since our last visit, so we thought we would give ourselves a treat. It is so disappointing. For starters, the signage in the car park is very intimidating and inhospitable. Something not normally seen in Scotland (and the rules apply to English rules, not Scottish).
The whole place is shabby and in need of a lick of paint, especially the ceilings. The staff are thin on the ground, but pleasant and appear to do their best in the circumstances. The tables are clean but menus are worn and greasy.

We ordered Fish & Chips. The fish was delicious but the chips were rubbery, consistent with re-heats. It was such a let-down. The cutlery is like something from the pound shop and I found them painful to use because of the sharp edges.

I am not sure why they have lost so much business because not too long ago, coaches would arrive with large groups to dine. Nearby restaurants don’t appear to have the same problem and it is not the competition. I can’t help wondering if the forest of parking signage (needs to be to be paid by card over the phone) has something to do with it.

I just wish it were better, but for now, I won’t be returning.

We thought a fish tea would be a good idea for ease of quickness this evening. We hadn't been to Harry Ramsdens for a few years. It was en route, and our previous experience years ago, was actually OK. However, we were all very disappointed in the quality of the food and the general cleanliness of the place - it was really run-down. The chips were re-heats, as was the fish, and very greasy. The bread and butter tasted like margarine had been spread thinly on the slices and I felt all the condiments, etc were greasy. The toilets smelled and needed a good clean too. Sadly, if the place continues to trade the way it is, it won't be long till it closes. The place was empty and lacked atmosphere.
