Description: Harry Ramsden's serve the same great quality fish and chips today that they have been since 1928. The brand was established 80 years ago, when Harry Ramsden opened his first takeaway store in a hut in Guiseley. His top-quality fish and chips brought people from near and far and it wasn't long before Harry's became the most famous fish and chip shop brand in the world. The fish is freshly prepared in Harry's kitchens daily and has that distinctive flavour revered the world over. The menu includes the world-famous battered fish with its closely guarded secret recipe, as well as an extensive choice of mouth-watering options and a fantastic children's menu, to satisfy all the family. There are 13 Harry's restaurants across the United Kingdom, from seaside locations such as Blackpool and Bournemouth to high street restaurants in Cardiff and Southampton city centres, so you're never far from a Harry's.

Cannot believe how neglected this place is. Iconic brand that is dying a slow death. Went or a take away and Fish was ok, but not a patch on 10 years ago, and chips tasted like they'd been sitting a week. Service non-existent in the take away section - was like try had or gotten they were even open.

Good old Great Britain......what do we have? Matthew Kelly, Little and Large..Ronnie Corbett..Mike Yarwood....what do these guys have in common with Harry Ramsden's?
Answer: The last time these guys were funny, Harry Ramsden's was good!!
This is an expensive, bad experience......this place, once good, has went downhill faster than Jack and Jill with turbo roller skates!
The chips are greasy, the fish had so many bones i was tempted to stand up and start singing "dem bones" Staff, in fairness, were trying to provide a service for the naff food that was being served.
I think of Harry Ramsden's like i think of "Minder, The Professionals, The Sweeney,The Tomorrow People, Rentaghost"...good old best of British..........as for this Harry Ramsden's ,put a "Y" in front of the "UK"

Fresh fish - a rarity in Glasgow chip shops in my experience - and generous portions. The special deals and promotions they offer are usually pretty good too.

Visited here on a Saturday afternoon. Wasn't too busy at all but noted that we waited 15 mins for our drinks, and another 15 mins for our food (wasn't too much of a problem since we were not in a hurry!). We had a 2for1 voucher from The Evening Times newspaper which made it a real bargain! £10.49 for 2 fish & chips, bread & butter, mushy peas & onion rings. They are also doing a brilliant deal just now - 4 fish, chips, sides & drinks for £19.99! We had NO complaints about our food whatsoever (apart from the fact we were stuffed afterwards!) and really enjoyed our meal, but we did notice the restaurant was looking a bit worse for wear. Lots of light bulbs missing from chandeliers, in fact some chandeliers had bits hanging down from them! Ladies toilets have pink basins in them - probably the original basins installed when the place was built. There was also a Xmas tree & decs shoved behind the reception desk, instead of being put away out of sight. Apart from this, the girl who served us (KATRINA I think) was brilliant. She seemed to be THE ONLY one doing any work apart from the Chef in the kitchen! She was really lovely, attentive, cheerful, but run off her feet! Harry Ramsdens need to realise what a valued member of staff she is, and upgrade the restaurant so that she doesn't quickly lose her sparkle working in such a poor environment!

Regardless of food quality, avoid this restaurant. As per other reviews I got the £150 parking ticket in spite of entering registration number on screen on arrival. System doesn't work but it seems to be my problem! Fighting it, but who needs all this hassle for a fish tea?
