We ate here on a Saturday night on the recommendation of our B&B. It was extremely busy but the service was warm, friendly and very competant. The menu gave us a good choice and the dishes we chose were very well cooked and beautifully presented. It was also good value. We did not sit in the best of places - main gangway to the kitchen and just below an air conditioning unit - but the atmosphere of the place managed to eclipse any niggles. And as we had booked at short notice, not surprising that we wern't given the best tabel. Everyone in the restaurant was having a good time, with much talk and laughter, but nothing intrusive. We had a lovely evening and would go back next time we're in Glasgow.

We have been to the Buttery a few times now and each occassion is better than the last.

The food is amazing and that staff are excellent - if you like fish, you'll love this plaice (excuse the pun).

To give you an idea of the dishes:
- our starters included a razor clams dish and a pork belly dish.
- our main courses were monkfish, whole seabass and halibut.
- For desert, we shared two (!) grand platters between 4 people.

Amazing!

Went to this restaurant on the back of he views from trip advisor. It was absoultley perfect.

Upon arrival we were told that our table was going to be 5 minutes late and that because of this our first drinks were on the house. We sat down and very comfortable. The service was brilliant and they all seem to work at your pace, which in my case was slow and easy. The waiters were very knowledgeable and extremely warm and friendly.

The dishes were brilliant, best I have ever had. They would come around with a basket of fresh bread of different flavours which were really nice (mustard, onion and something else), then had escalopes on black pudding which is to die for. Fillet steak was perfect, never had such a good steak and it will take a hell of a lot to beat it.

We also asked for a photo graph and told the manager that we had just got engaged. They were very happy to say the least and got several congratulations. At the end of the bill, they had written on to say 'Congratulations' and then at the end written 'the rest is on us' which I then realised that they had paid for the pudding.

Cant recommend this restaurant enough, you just have to go!!!
