“5* Experience !!”
Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

My fiancée and i went for a meal here after it being recommended by my parents who have been dining here for 40 years. The whole experience was superb and service and food were excellent.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a classy joint with great food.
We will certainly be back.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. This is so far our favourite restaurant, make sure you book in plenty of time as we have learned as they get very busy. You will see for yourself when you visit exactly why. The staff slip in and out without disturbing you too much and the food came out hot, fresh and looking really good. Would recommend this place to anyone.

“Very good restaurant tucked away but easy to find really”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Walked from Byres Road to The Two Fat Ladies but the easiest way would be to take the subway to Anderston from which it is a 2 minute walk. Of course if you are in a car they do have a large car park.
The restaurant is decorated with carved timber from old churches and Victorian china and has a cosy and opulent feel to it. It is quite formal which is nice with a very polished Maitre d' to settle you in with a sherry and to hang up your coat, all very civilised.
The food was delicious, I even ate three courses and there is lots of choice, definitely fine dining. Good wine, good yet discrete service, it was all excellent.
The restaurant is all on one level so, with the exception of a small step into the Ladies it would be suitable for those with mobility impairment , but I don't think you could get an wheelchair into the loo. Perhaps they had a disabled loo elsewhere, I should have checked, sorry.
I do have a criticism however and that is with regard to the booking. I booked three days previously but when we arrived there was no booking. It was OK, they were not too busy, but had it been otherwise I should have been very angry. The telephone goes to a central booking for the four restaurants in the chain. The booking was not passed through. I suggest that they dispense with this and allow people to book directly with the restaurant.
Anyway. This did not spoil our enjoyment and is not reflected in my score.

Thank you so much to everyone at the Two Fat Ladies, it was wonderful. The ambiance is lovely and cosy yet immaculate. The staff are first class and then the icing on the cake is the food which you expect to be good but is even better. No complaints here. I definitely cant wait to go back to Glasgow and I will certainly be goign back to The Fat Ladies. Thank you.
