Went to the Ashoka last night with my fiance after not being tere for years but still holding them in high regard. We had a wowcher voucher which included a chefs platter to start two mains with rice and a nan to share.
The chefs platter was lovely especially the samosa and the spicey and mint sauces were great for dipping.
I had the patia which was yummy and my fiance a spicey dish, he was very impressed by his dish as he loves spicey food. The rice was really nice and the nan very tasty and well cooked.
The service was attentive and freindly and we could not fault this! We were not rushed and spent 1 1/2 hours int he restaurant enjoying our meal and chatting without being herded out like in some places.
The wowcher deal was amazing value for money and i would definately be back and will be looking out for future deals.
I am surprised by the low rating reviews that have been given recently! especially the person saying the sauce contained ketchup, i think there is something wrong with their taste buds.
The Asoka has always had a good reputation in Glasgow but some Askoka's are better than others because they actually have franchises but i don't think a lot of people know this.
However the Askoka west end is great and i would highly recommend people go for dinner and try it out and not be put off by some bad reviews.
