“Excellent food but a very noisy restaurant”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

We were staying overnight in Glasgow and had booked a table for 2 at La Lanterna as it was my husband's birthday. He doesn't like a fuss so we didn't mention this at the time of booking. We chose the set menu for our dinner and we weren't disappointed. The food was very nicely presented and extremely tasty. The service was just how we like it - attentive but not overbearing with a short gap between courses. £55 for two people including a glass of Prosecco each as aperitif, a bottle of wine and 2 coffees at the end. We were very impressed with the food and the price although we did find some other diners particularly noisy. There is really no need to shout at the person sitting directly opposite you so that the whole restaurant can hear your conversation.

“Best meal ever!!!”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

My husband and live in Ottawa, Canada and have travelled to most major North American and European cities. We have eaten in wonderful restaurants, but La Lanterna was the BEST meal I have ever had - in a restaurant or homemade! The food and the service was wonderful. We will return to Glasgow in the future just to eat here again.

“Superb”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

What a fantastic meal. For a start, we found it difficult to choose from the menu: just about everything appealed to us. Our starters, spaghetti with prawns and clams, scallops, calamari and asparagus with parma ham were excellent. Mains of crab ravioli, risotto, and monkfish were also impressive. Four of us totally satisfied! Add in the attentive, friendly and speedy service in a packed, buzzing restaurant, and you have an excellent Italian restaurant, one of the best in Scotland.

“One of the best Italian meals outside of Italy”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

While staying over in Glasgow we checked reviews for restaurants by the usual methods. This restaurant stood out from customer comments so we decided to visit. It was probably the best choice we made as the quality and service was really good. Selection was varied and it was diificult to choose as all looked so delicious. It is always busy and welcomes large parties but i would suggest you book to avoid disaapointment. Well recommended.
