La Lanterna is one of those old Glasgow favourites that you pass and think I must go back there again. Well this time I did and I wasn't disappointed. The food was beautifully cooked and presented the service was exceptional and the wine including the house recommendation was terrific. One word of caution - book your table. We saw several parties turned away and the restaurant was full all evening - not bad for a Wednesday night

We went here whilst up in Glasgow on business. It was recommended by colleagues and we weren't disappointed. The food was authentic Italian pasta. I had a delicious, large portion f ravioli (red pepper and goats cheese) in a sun dried tomato sauce and some side salad. My colleagues had starters of Bresaolo and rocket and the wine was nice and average, restaurant prices.

Book online and I think you can get a free glass of prosecco deal.

It's close to the theatre so it's worth booking as it was very busy for a Wednesday night but it thinned out later on.

The reason why I have not given it top marks as the service was a little laissez-faire and inconsistent. The maitre d'e was friendly and efficient, his colleagues a little less cheery and quite slow. I was ready to go about 30 mins before we exited.

Don't be put off by the entrance, it's nothing special but the atmosphere in the restaurant itself was much better than the entrance and outside suggests.
