Revisited with happy memories after many years absence since earlier heydays. So not sure what to expect. Still generally very good on service, food and drinks. Seems to have achieved a good balance in avoiding stratospheric prices whilst still providing good quality, enjoyable and authentic food. Would have to agree with other comments that it’s fairly crowded venue – with some tables it could be a problem unless you're very neighborly and sociable types. It was, nevertheless a hearty, fun, but not raucous ambiance.

All our varied dishes (cheese excepted) were faultless in quality, portions, temperature and presentation. Wine decently priced for decent quality; a welcome expectation in today’s restaurant scene

I’d have to mention the one disappointment, the cheese; if only because by that point a consistent high standard and expectation had been set. Three thin slices of not especially impressive cheeses on a platter of biscuits and a mass of greenery for 6 quid were a letdown. The barely-touched platter did not prompt any query when being cleared – only lapse in otherwise excellent service. Did not want to spoil our special occasion, so after paying I discreetly mentioned to the staff the let-down. They were profuse with apologies and wished we had brought it up during the meal.

We will definitely be returning with previous good memories still reasonably intact.

Went on a busy friday evening but the service was courteous and attentive. The food was beautiful and the starters are particularly good value. If you book online you get a free glass of prosecco which is a nice touch. Cant wait to go back.

Been here twice in the last 6 weeks, food was good and keenly priced, needs a tweak or two with service, when we arrived at restaurant there were a few tables on the go and all was going well, 45 minutes later the place was full and the staff seemed a bit under pressure and then it was a case of trying to catch the waiters eye for more drinks etc, perhaps understaffed on both nights?? the restaurant appears to be very popular and rightly so (food, prices), hence the 'very good' rating i've given, but a bit more attentiveness when busy would take it up another notch.

This was our second visit to this restaurant, which has recently enjoyed top ratings among Italian restaurants in the area. Last time was a few years ago, before they earned their fame. Sadly, it seems that the accolades have gone to their heads. The food was fine, nicely presented and tasty. But the dining room was noisy and packed. The service was efficient enough but indifferent. This was the most noticeable change from 2008, when the service was warm and attentive.
Is this the dark side of TripAdvisor?

So impressed by the food I intend to return with my sister when she visits glasgow. The staff were among the nicest in glasgow so friendly and accommodating in all areas, even changing one of our dishes quite extensively so suit our requirements. We both went for some fish as a main and it was cooked brilliantly so delicious. Look forward to returning and trying the a la carte menu. Thank you for a lovely experience, ps great atmosphere decor etc felt like I was in a quaint Parisian Italian restaurant
