This is the first time I've been to Charcoals. But it's certainly not the last. The staff were lovely, they couldn't do enough for us. My friends and I were out celebrating 2 birthdays last night. The staff brought my friend and I ice cream with candles and sang to us. What we didn't know was that they had taken our picture also. A couple of minutes later what appeared at our table???? Framed pictures of us. Fantastic. Oh and the food was delicious to. Thanks for a fun night guys x

Having already had a couple of good experiences at this restaurant, I decided to have a family meal at Charcoals. The service was excellent, with a particular mention to Ali, who was an all round pleasant man to be around and one who made a real effort to make customers feel welcome. The food was, as usual, very enjoyable, with my only complaint being the garlic naan, which i felt could have been prepared better. My brother also enquired about a dish not on the menu, and we were given a list of dishes that he would like, while the kitchen kindly cooked one for him.
Overall, i would describe the restaurant as extremely friendly with a great atmosphere and a real drive to make customers feel appreciated.

Solo business trip, very popular place & not big so advise you book unless go very early evening. Chicken tikka starter was truly exceptional - plenty of it, very succulent chicken and superbly flavoured - a real treat. Tried their version of chicken bhuna which was quite hot and sadly not so good on the flavour compared to other top curry spots, so 4 stars overall. Service very attentive but head waiter seemed rather on edge - although not rushed he wanted to keep things moving.

i went to charcoals with no less than 36 other people, we took over more than half of the resturant for a whole night. The food was great, if i had a stronger word to describe the food i would use it, i have sertain "special needs" when it comes to food and anything i asked for was "no problem at all ma´am" i was served custom plates with a friendly smile throughout the night. The service was about as unbelievable as the taste of the food, friendly, patient (very so, considering i was in a group of not so sober icelandic people being happy and extremely loud) if i had stayed more days in Glasgow i would have had every meal there!

This restaurant deserves all the positive reviews. What more is there to say? We did not find it cramped. We liked the decor - who wants to eat cuury in a posh palace? The service was attentive without being intrusive and most important of all the food was great - especially recommend the Chicken Hara Bhara Kebab - as it says on the menu "a real delight".
