Went back to La Vallee Blanche on Saturday for a birthday lunch. We hadn't been for over a year, but it was better then ever. I had pickled herring, followed by Steak Frites and chocolate tart. Others had a goats cheese tart to start, and a lovely salmon dish for the main. The lemon tart was to die for. The three courses for £15 lunch is excellent value. My only criticism is that the prices for drinks are unfairly high. £4.95 for a small bottle of Leffe beer is a rip off, even in a restaurant. The coffee is good, and when we were served some small petit fours, I thought that was a nice touch. That was until the bill revealed that the coffee was almost £4 a cup with petit fours, and there was no option to have coffee without them. If they would just adjust their drink and coffee prices to a more realistic level, it would be perfect .

A delightful French Eatery situated in the West End of Glasgow. The French Cuisine was excellent. I was with friends and we all agreed it was delish. I had herring for a starter and it was very tasty followed by Sea Bream. The atmosphere is cosy and we enjoyed it so much we booked again for beginning May.

fabulous lunch here. Food was superb with a great selection and the champagne to start was excellent. the service was superb and the background music excellent. We had a delicious lunch late afternoon and the staff never rushed us to finish. Coffee and petit fours were great.

My wife and I used to LOVE this restaurant. We went there frequently. Sadly, in my opinion since Ellie left its been slipping downhill ever since. A poorly changed menu offering cheaper cuts at slightly higher prices (the saying "if it ain't broke springs to mind") and the small things like canapés and petit fours being taken away are just a few changes that are breaking the back on what was once the best restaurant in Glasgow and were small things that made the place so great. Our last trip there was a meal with my wife to celebrate her being pregnant and she ordered the soufflé for dessert. We were quite rightly advised that it would take a bit longer but it was a special occasion and after sampling on there before would surely be worth it. Sadly, the soufflé arrived and it was raw so pregnant or not was not edible for her. The only great thing remaining is Stephen the maitre de who is a real talent and the only truly exceptional part of this restaurant left.
Come on! We have a load of fond memories of this place. Tidy up things (the gents toilet for starters), change the menu back to what it was, call the original chef and beg him to return (its obvious he's gone) and bring the good times back before it's too late. This restaurant is/was too good to see it treated like this.
