Went back to La Vallee Blanche on Saturday for a birthday lunch. We hadn't been for over a year, but it was better then ever. I had pickled herring, followed by Steak Frites and chocolate tart. Others had a goats cheese tart to start, and a lovely salmon dish for the main. The lemon tart was to die for. The three courses for £15 lunch is excellent value. My only criticism is that the prices for drinks are unfairly high. £4.95 for a small bottle of Leffe beer is a rip off, even in a restaurant. The coffee is good, and when we were served some small petit fours, I thought that was a nice touch. That was until the bill revealed that the coffee was almost £4 a cup with petit fours, and there was no option to have coffee without them. If they would just adjust their drink and coffee prices to a more realistic level, it would be perfect .
