I stayed in Lorne Hotel for five nights during a conference in Glasgow. The room was small but quite adequate for one person. Bathroom was modern, and had a good shower. The room was tidy but some of the furniture was broken (like a cabinet door in my room and the shower holder in my colleague's room). A normal English breakfast (toast, scrambled eggs, beans, bacon etc.) was included in the room price. The internet access in the room requires a cable (you should take one with you from home) and there is a Wi-Fi connection in the lobby area (which also just might work in your room).

Room Tip: Ask a room from the fifth floor with a view to Glasgow university.

This hotel is in a great location for all the bars and restaurants of Glasgow's west end. Unfortunately the sleek and shiny lobby hides small rooms missing essentials like mirrors and hairdryers! The breakfast was disappointing given the quality of food served in the restaurant in the evening. Not good value for money.

Stayed at this hotel on a Saturday evening in August , Reception and bar area very nice ,
the bedroom was very small and the mirror on the wall was not at correct height to get ready ok if your a dwarf, speaker in bathroom nice touch.

Window between bedroom and bathroom , with a blind that you can pull down , they said if you wanted to watch tv from bath......

However the TV is on wrong wall to watch it from bed , you really need to look at how the rooms are set up , why not just put a TV in bathroom , as the blind looks very tacky !

Room and bathroom was clean and beading clean and fresh, however corridors were very musty and dark carpets and wall paper gave a cold feeling to the place.

There was a function on that weekend and you can hear the music from the room , not a problem for us as we were heading out that evening and by time we got back it was over.

Nice hotel and great location , only thing for me is that you need to sound proof your function rooms , as if I was not heading out that evening I would have got no sleep.. As other guests complained about this the next day.

Stayed in this hotel for two nights. The first night the noise from a banging fire door everytime somebody went through it kept us awake half the night. We had already complained about the noise the evening before because when we checked in we noticed a lot of noise form aircon units outside the window. We had asked for a change of room but they said they were fully booked. They offered us free breakfasts. I would rather have had a quiet room.

The bedroom was tiny and the plastic bath pretty small. The hairdryer wouldn't reach to a mirror to dry hair - a small detail but . . . .. One of the chairs had cosmetic damage. There was no bedside table my side of the bed and no light either.
The second night they offered to change our room and put us in a superior room. There words!! It was better but the room from the street was awful. Although when I looked out it appeared to be noise from hotel guests smoking outside the main entrance.

The breakfast was not good. Not cooked fresh and mediocre.

We won't be staying there again.
