“Best place to eat in Glasgow”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

The Glasgow Curry shop is amazing. They are a cute little restaurant with the most amazing curries I have ever eaten. I celebrated my birthday there not too long ago and the staff and management were amazing, even made us a special food deal when they heard we are all students. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and the staff are really friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes any kind of curry. Ps. The chicken chasni is AMAZING

“Wee gem!!”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

Went here for the first time last night and was amazed with the cosiness of the place. It was like having dinner in someone's living room.........great service, friendly staff but if I had to fault it, it's the fact the menu is quite limited. This is probably due to the size of the place..........not as much variety as bigger restaurants. Very reasonably priced too!!

“great meal”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

Ate here on a Monday night and the place was packed which is a good sign though consequently slightly difficult to hear sometimes nevertheless a vibrant atmosphere. The food & service were great. Only let down was the toilet (at least the Ladies) which definitely did not do the place any credit at all.

“Extremely friendly staff (and customers)”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

Visited this restaurant (which is now called The Glasgow Curry Shop) at the weekend. This is not the largest of places to eat, but think as long as you book in advance, you would have no problems. Ashton Lane itself is full of places to eat, including the Ubiqitous Chip, and the prices seem to reflect that. Certainly not the cheapest meal I have had, but cannot complain about the quality of the dishes. Also, the chefs were happy to make any dish that was not on their menu, which we did, and were pleased with the outcome.
A table beside us said the Lamb Karachi was incredible, so one of our party had it, and agreed. It was lovely to have something recommended, and the waiter (who had a very Glasgow sense of humour), said he was getting done out of a job. He was excellent, and although busy, very attentive.
Cannot fault this place, and will definitely be returning.

“Not as good as it should be... Regarding their takeaway food.”
Reviewed January 25, 2013 via mobile

The curries were light on the oil which is a real positive but also a bit light on flavour especially the chicken saag. Raita too lumpy. Nan rather oily. And rice portion very small. Could do better.
