“Not bad for £60”
Reviewed December 14, 2013 via mobile

I have come up to Glasgow for a business trip and stayed in room 005 of this hotel. This is, for a single room, very spacious. The bed is comfortable and a double which is nice considering this is supposed to be a single room.
Bathroom is acceptable with a good shower.
Nice flat screen television the desk and good mirrors round the room.

Even turning up quite late at night the staff at the front desk were friendly and professional.

The only drawback with this room is that it is in the basement and has a macerator in the toilets which is very noisy when flushed.

I wouldn't like to pay more than about £80 for this hotel but at 60 was very acceptable

I have to say that the room and bathroom were very clean but the dingy brown carpets and paintwork did date it. Also there was a musty smell in the foyer and so we didn't eat there, preferring to go into town. The hotel is not in a bad stop just a few minutes walk from the Centre and a short walk from the tour bus stop which was great. We got what we paid for, it was OK for a whistle stop tour but I would not have liked to have stayed there if it was a special occasion.
Staff were very helpful. Oh and no lift!

Room Tip: We had the room at the top, very spacious and with a peculiar little lounge to the side. However if...

Set in a quiet street near the night-out end of Sauchiehall Street, easy enough to find. Single room was compact with an almost double bed. Double room, even more compact. Nice decor, with a heavily painted antique radiator the only anomaly. Upsides- ironing board, fridge, large tv, playstation (but why?) and good soundproofing. Breakfast was also very good, very attentive Eastern Europen waitress explained everything including the complicated coffee machine, a nice touch.
Downsides- no bar, rad in bathroom didn't work, and rad in room went off at night and didn't come back on in the morning. Room was quite cold as a result. Receptionist was quite slimy, when asked him about check-out, trying to cajole us into paying for a later check-out.
Overall, not a bad hotel in a good location, but I wouldn't use it in the winter months, if their policy is to freeze you out...

I came here with 3 friends for my birthday and we all got to share the same room. It was huge! Very clean with 4 single beds. Bathroom was spotless.
Excellent location, just a 2 min walk to the clubs and 5 mins to the shops.
Would deffinatly stay here again!

The room was in the basement level with the breakfast room which was handy.
the room was large but a bit cold as there was only 1 radiator, but the staff were more then happy to handover a heater which warmed the room up in no time.
The bathroom was clean and so was the room.
The breakfast was good.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall a good hotel.
