Description: The Osprey in Newton Mearns is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

The restaurant is in a converted stable on a large parcel of land, about 40 minutes from Glasgow Center. The servers are efficient and friendly, the food is authentic and great tasting, and the bar is a good one. We had 14 people to dinner after a Civil Union and it came to about $700.00 US, including meals, deserts, and drinks (quite a few). We made our reservations from home in Florida on the PC.

Dined here for the first time in January and left a good review. Went back this weekend and was really disappointed. Not much chicken in the chicken pie, a huge dome of pastry hiding a great deal of nothing inside, overpriced, lacklustre puddings. Sorry, but I don't think we'll be back

The Osprey is a well protected bird and this reastaurant named after it offer a very tradional Farm House setting with excellent food. We have been eating here with friends & family for many years when it was standing on its own in the country .Unfortunately with the urban spread of new Houses & Supermarkets it now is not so isolated but lost none of its charm.

Plenty of seating & easily ordering system with your numbered wooden spoon the link to your table.

Great at anytime Lunch or Dinner....& eating outside in the summer is a treat Our most recent visit as good as ever with great menu choice where we could easily have picked six or seven choices with no problem. We will just have to keep going back. Recently refurbished it is clean, modern with great seating areas & choices of Beers.Well worth a visit

Have been coming here on a monthly basis and really don't recognise some of the poorer comments. Have always had a good tasty meal, served quickly and with a smile.

We meet our friends at the osprey every Saturday night as it s a great place to meet up for a drink, we have been coming weekly like this for 10 years, we really enjoy it when you have someone to meet there. The toilets a smelly, not a good place to sit up there and one member of the staff (s....) it's not to pleasent. The osprey has em proved a lot in the last 2 years the food has got match better but as there is alto of competition in the area the osprey needs to keep up there great work. A really good friendly family pub
