“Amazing hospitality - a home from home!”
Reviewed January 28, 2010

I stayed at the Glasgow Guest House for 3 nights and had such a lovely stay, I didnt want to leave. From the moment I arrived I was made so welcome and this continued throughout my stay. The location was ideal for sightseeing (I visited the Burrell Collection and House for an Art Lover, just a few mins walk away), the train to town was also very accessible, I was in the city centre within 10 mins from leaving the Guest House. I would highly recommend the Glasgow Guest House to others.

John is a lovely host and very welcoming!
It is a relativelly comfortable guest house and good value. Unfortunately I found it very hard to get to and from Glasgow City and Glasgow's West End. There are 2 lovely parks nearby but I found the buses infrequent and the underground was a bit of a walk away. Taxis are not expensive in Glasgow but being on a budget I couldn't afford the £10 per trip. If the weather had been better during the time I was there this would have been less of an issue, but waiting for busses in the pouring rain and missing a bus because it was full, then getting soaked probably didn't help ;(
It would be a nice place to stay if you have a car, but still I heard from the other guests that drving in Glasgow is not an easy venture.

Friendly, clean and comfortable with guest kitchen which is an added bonus. A little bit off the beaten track if you don't drive but taxis arent too expensive. Near two wonderful parks.

I'd definitely go again.

Friendly B&B, good location for exploring both the south-west of Scotland and the City of Glasgow. Local attractions and bus and underground services are within a few minutes walk. John and Mark make you feel welcome, full of advice for trips out and about. Regular clientelle are friendly. Rooms are comfortable and clean with everything you need and public areas are warm and welcoming after a day out.

My third stay at this wonderful friendly, home from home, comfortable guest house. It doesn't have fancy frills and you probably need your own transportation, although there is a convenient local train station nearby. But I would not consider staying anywhere else now on my frequent visits to Glasgow.
Last visit was with wife, a daughter and 3 granddaughters, all were delighted with the pleasant homely and friendly atmosphere of the Guest House .
Highly recommended.

First class accommodation, very clean, choice of breakfast, John the proprietor could not be more helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in a very central and easy to get around area of Glasgow.
