Thank you to the staff at the Glasgow Guest House. Great service, lovely clean rooms, great location for Bellahouston Park and great value for money. Highly recommend this for a visit to Glasgow. Two minute walk to the entrance of Bellahouston Park, two minutes from the train line into Glasgow and the owner could not have been more helpful. Lovely homely atmosphere and a delicious breakfast.

In July I was able once again to enjoy an 11 night stay at the GGH. It is so much like a second home that I completely relax and tend to forget that I'm on a time limited & always to some extent work related stay & have to return to NZ eventually. Glasgow is my home town which makes every stay here extra special. John is a superb host always extremely helpful & accommodating- and breakfast is always a treat. The wonderfully refreshing & healthful fruit platter + toast, spreads, coffee & fruit juice are a great start to a busy day. It is also so nice to be able to return later in the day & know that you can make a meal in the kitchen & don't have to go hunting for somewhere to eat out. The setting is also excellent -in spite of a busy road outside- Bellahouston park with its peaceful & beautiful walled garden & stunning House for a Art Lover is just 10 minutes walk away & the surrounding somewhat hilly parkland more than adequate for a long extended walk. Transport into town is very convenient -the local train takes only 10 minutes into Central Station. I noticed on this visit that the local station had received an award for beautification & neat & pleasant surroundings-very appropriate. I am already looking forward to my next visit to the GGH. Having free WiFi is also really useful for staying in touch with work & family & friends.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to stay for 2 nights last week. The hotel was immaculate and the service second to none. John was so helpful and the breakfast was perfect. Just wish we could have stayed longer. The location, on the end of the motorway, was ideal for visiting any area of central Scotland and we can't wait for another opportunity to stay. If you are looking for a perfect place to stay in Glasgow - this is it !

I stayed at Glasgow Guest House for several days in the Winter of 2013 (February), and have been rather negligent about leaving my review, as they deserve better! Firstly, the owners are extremely attentive and accommodating. The first night I had a lovely, warm room facing the road. There had been work there during the day and a manhole cover was loose, clanging every time a car went by. I was promptly moved to another equally nice room the next morning, and slept very well after that (and by the way, John alerted the local authorities and the issue was soon fixed). I have special dietary needs, being gluten-free and a vegetarian, and at the time being off all dairy (!). Not only was extreme care taken in buying the right ingredients for my breakfast, but John's breakfast was absolutely delicious (eggs and mushrooms, beans, bread, cereal), and served in a lovely conservatory, so pleasant in a Winter morning as the sky begins to lighten. Also, there is an INVALUABLE small kitchen where guests can keep some food and make themselves small meals if necessary, and that was absolutely wonderful (and highly unusual). The owners take great pride in keeping everything well-decorated and pleasant, clean and comfortable. My only complaint about the trip was actually Glasgow itself - not my favorite place, in spite of the history... Very industrial, and way too much traffic; one really has to get out of the city to appreciate the beauty and rugged nature of Scotland (which I did do). The guest house is well-located for this if you have a car, and only a short walk and train ride away if you don't.

Room Tip: Smaller rooms are warmer in the Winter. Rooms facing away from the road are best for light sleepers...

Our room was good, the breakfasts were fine, John was very helpful with information etc, the location is excellent, but having access to a kitchen to prepare an evening meal after so many nights eating in pubs and restaurants tipped this over the top to 5 star territory for us. If I could add one suggestion: directions to the parking area at the back of the guesthouse on the website would have been appreciated. The sign at the front of the house is hard to see when driving by.

Welcome to a true respite from drudgery!

My husband and I spent five pleasant evenings at Glasgow Guest House. In short, we left our hearts in Glasgow.

To keep the review simple, I'll provide a top 10 list of the reasons why Glasgow Guest House is a gem.

1. John and James are hospitable, welcoming, and informative.
2. The full Scottish breakfasts.
3. The freedom guests have to use the conservatory, sitting room, and garden patio.
4. Mingling with the other guests. We met a few folks who shared their stories and joys.
5. Proximity to beautiful parks, Dumbreck rail station, and art collections/museums.
6. Situated in Glasgow: a true cultural and social treasure.
7. Inexpensive cab fair and convenient access to City Centre and other parts of Scotland via rail or bus.
8. The house is impeccably clean, comfortable, stylishly furnished, and nestled in a charming neighborhood.
9. The toast.
10. Memories and friends made. Stories to cherish.

Go to Glasgow Guest House and make a new story. In the end, all we have left are the stories. I'm glad Glasgow is in my head.

This beautiful B&B is situated in a rather quiet suburb of Glasgow, within walking distance of the Rangers' stadium (and bus station). The rooms are modernistic and elegant - all black and white and purist which made a change from the B&Bs we knew. The hosts were very nice and helpful, and their suggestions (seeing The House for an Art Lover & the park) were much appreciated. This was our first trip to Glasgow, but if we go back, we'll definitely stay at the Glasgow Guest House again. Thanks a lot for a truly enjoyable stay and a hearty breakfast!
