We visited late Sunday afternoon with our 2 children following my husband trying to track down somewhere to find a nice roast dinner that wasn't buffet style. From the outside I was a little dubious however as soon as we entered we were made to feel welcome and the staff were keen to meet the needs of our children despite there not being a children's menu. The decor is simply delightful. You felt as though you were somewhere special without it being too over the top and pretentious. The art work for sale on the walls was fabulous. We went for the sunday lunch menu. I had the ravioli with spinach which was lovely and just enough for a starter my husband had the prawn cocktail which he said was simple but good quality. The roast was the best I've had! The roast of the day was sirloin which came with roast/ mash potatoes, carrots, turnip and peas with a homemade yorkshire pudding and homemade horseradish sauce which was just superb. Everything was delicious and was made to order i.e. beef cooked rare etc. both of us couldn't believe how good it was and were waiting to steal the leftovers from our daughter's plate who had a smaller portion. My son had a starter portion of pasta which was a good size and he nearly finished it which is a definite complement. For sweet we had the chocolate fudge cake to share which was lovely and just enough to finish of our meal. All in all a lovely meal with good service and gorgeous surroundings. I would recommend this place to everyone but to families with older children as it is as the kids said 'fancy' we will be back!
