Last minute venue choice for dinner. Service, food and atmosphere excellent. Best bit......the warm baked bread is to die for.

Let me start by saying I like 29, and have been there on more than one occasion, however would never pay 'full price' again for the Afternoon Tea. If you do go then eat beforehand. We were in a large party and heard lots of comments from them after about how disappointed they were with what we were served. There was an espresso size cup with soup, which I have to say was delicious, however a nice touch it may be, soup doesn't really go with afternoon tea.! One platter for 3 contained 3 small (one bite size) pieces of quiche, it was tiny. A bite size of a cheese savoury wrap, and a tiny piece of bread with a very obviously measured tiny scoop of bland egg mayo. Next level, some small very uninspiring (def not luxury) cakes and 3 small scones with jam and cream. Elsewhere you get a choice of various teas and coffees and have your own pot, here you get staff coming round with thermos jugs of tea and coffee..!!! We paid £19.50 per head and for this price it was most certainly not close to value for money. As a friend pointed out that very small, disappointing serving platter cost £60 for 3 of us....and we were all left hungry and not impressed. I need to mention service is great and staff could not be more helpful.. BUT if you are looking for a great afternoon tea and better value, go elsewhere. I recently had afternoon tea at the Hilton and it was amazing for half the price with Prosecco....

Booked afternoon tea for 6 people using a voucher promotion. We arrived early and staff were very friendly, directing us to the bar area to wait until our table was ready. I was impressed by the range of food we received; there was a small cup of soup, egg mayo roll, mini quiche, cheese wrap and a selection of cakes and scones which were all tasty. The waiters were very attentive, coming over several times to check if we needed more tea etc. The room itself is lovely, a nice relaxing atmosphere for afternoon tea. Would recommend this if you are looking for a nice afternoon to spend with friends/family.

My wife and I dined on the 11th of January. We are long term members of Club 29.
Through business I eat out all over , every week.
You could not get a better steak, anywhere. The rest of the menu is great too
The service is always superb.

We were very well catered for by properly trained staff who were attentive and polite throughout our visit. A large group can be difficult to accommodate but we were given a nice table at the end of the room. This was a gathering for my wife's mother who was celebrating her 70th. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. We ate from a set menu with enough choice to suit everyone. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and wine. Staff gave us plenty of time at the table and then found enough space for us in the lounge area later. Service was faultless.
