Description: The New Turban is a relaxed Indian restaurant in the heart of Glasgow’s Southside. It is well situated, close to Eastwood theatre, but also not far from the City, making this a popular, easy-going venue for both businesspeople and families, with pre- and post-theatre sittings.First opened in 1982, the restaurant was an immediate success. At that time, it was among only a handful of fine dining establishments in Glasgow, it was also one of the first to bring an authentic tandoor oven into the commercial kitchen. Now under new management, with the original family taking over, it will be celebrating its 30th anniversary! with a menu that resurrects the time it first opened. So, Whether it’s for pre-theatre or dinner, we invite you to enjoy The New Turban’s celebrated menu.

This is without doubt the best curry house in Scotland, if you have never been, go! The food is exquisite, the best by far and the service is always good. Ask the waiters for their recommendations and you will not be disappointed. Have been many times with friends and family and have always enjoyed everything we have had, lovely place, lovely staff, gorgeous food and at prices that won't break the bank.

Friendly good service, and the food. Well what can we say. A selection of pakoras to start which were delicious and beautifully presented. Crispy poppadoms and the best spicy onions. Main courses all fabulous and when requesting the chilli strength hot was hot. A must if you love curry but be sure to book. We have been unfortunate to turn up and its so busy that we had to go elsewhere.

We have been regulars here for over 25 years and will keep coming back.
Great service and the food is always superb.Staff very helpful and service great.
Just tried one of their specials from a choice of three and was excellent. Waiter took the time to explain all three specials and I could have picked all three!
As previous reviewer has commented- who needs a menu- couldnt agree more.
Definately ask for the specials - will not be dissappointed.
This restaurant clearly should be rated higher.

Ate here last night with two friends. Undoubtably the best Indian meal we had eaten in Glasgow. Don't bother with the menu just let the staff choose for you. We went down this route and felt we couldn't have chosen better. We will definitely go back.

On August 6th, my husband and I dined at the New Turban with our son and daughter (aged 20 and 16) to celebrate her success in the recent SQA Intermediate 2 exams :) Our lovely waiter for the evening could not have been more charming or helpful in making our meal just that little bit extra special. He regaled us about a Lamb Chaat dish that had taken 2 hours to cook and had been especially prepared for large group of people out for a business dinner. Sadly they had finished the whole lot and to appease our disappointment at not being able to try the dish for ourselves the waiter gave us a complimentary portion of Gosht Kathi Roll. This lamb dish just melts in the mouth. As always the whole meal was delicious and the staff are all really friendly. As Arnold Schwarzinegger would say 'I'll be back!!'
