We've been using this restaurant for a few years, to eat in and for carry outs. No more!! Had an experience a few months ago when we got rotten banana fritters delivered, the matter was dealt with after some difficulty. We got a 2 day old chicken sate delivered a couple of weeks ago. After some phone calls and some cheek, we were assured the next time we phoned for a carry out we would get a free meal. not a thing i normally bother about. My son phoned last night, 4/08/12, reminded them of the free meal scenario, for a home delivery...after an hour he phoned back...nothing but cheek from the person on the phone...poor food delivered and after another phone call, not much better and no assistance...i've eaten here, the food's good....will not be back!!

They were able to accommodate our large party of 30 people so that was nice. Most of the staff seemed pleasant but some seemed annoyed. At first we were told that they woudn't serve water unless it wa bottled water. Eventually, they brought jugs of water to the tables.

As far as the food went, the prices seemed reasonable, we didn't wait long for our meals and the food was truly delicious.

When it came time to pay the bill, things got a bit confusing. We were charged for meals and drinks that we didn't order or receive. I'm sure it was an honest mistake due to the large number of people in our party and the number of different staff that were serving us but it was a fight to get the "extra" items removed from the bill.

As some other reviewers have mentioned, the restrooms were quite smelly and should have been cleaned more often. The overall atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant.

We have been visitors to this restaurant many times over many years. Each time has always been excellent.

The latest trip on a Friday evening (15/6/12) was a spur of the moment decision, and it didn't disappoint.

It's very much a traditional, 70's 80's Chinese place in terms of the decor. Could do with getting updated. But it's clean, comfortable and still offers a nice atmosphere.

We had the mixed Dim Sum to start which was really nice. £8.90 for a 3 person portion. For mains it was king prawn satay and the sizzling seafood comb, both were excellent £10 and £12 respectively. Deserts were the always very nice Crolla selection you get in so many places, about £3.50 each. Quite a few drinks too and the bill came to an excellent £66.

Staff were very friendly and efficient, and we were never rushed, so overall it was a great night out.

First visit to this restaurant. Popped in at around 7pm on a Saturday evening after a hectic shopping trip without a booking. Fortunately for us there was a table free!
Place was packed with people hanging about entrance waiting on takeaways (obviously very popular).
We had prawn cocktail for starters (can't go far wrong with that) and for mains, my husband had fillet steak Peking style and I had fillet steak with green pepper and black bean sauce with fried rice. I honestly cannot fault the food... it was delicious! We ate every bit.
Unlike previous reviewers, we found the staff pleasant and polite, if extremely busy. The service was fast and although we did sit a few minutes after requesting our bill, it wasn't a problem and the waitress apologized for our wait.
All in all a lovely evening ! Yes the decor is perhaps a bit dated and we never visited the toilets (so I can't comment on their appearance or cleanliness) but for us the food was fantastic.
