My wife and I regularly visit St Andrews and this is always a number one choice to have dinner. Generally for dining we prefer independent restaurants and avoid using hotel restaurants because of their generally more expensive food, wine and service, but this is the exception. To us, this restaurant sets the standard for food and value against which we measure all the other restaurants in the town.
It’s a relatively small, cozy dining room, and very comfortable. Food is always outstandingly good as is the service. Food costs are probably medium to high, but with good value wines available, we regard it as overall very good value for money.
On this visit we had the duck special which came with delicious black pudding and black cherries with kirsch. The blend of flavors was just incredible and was another totally pleasurable dining experience here.
